Konfidence Golden Bucket Sand Art Competition

This summer, Konfidence launched a brilliant competition for children under 8 years old to create their own sand art masterpiece. The top three will win a bronze, silver and gold coloured bucket and spade trophy. There is also a £200 Konfidence voucher for the winner, plus a £100 and £50 voucher for the second and third placed entries, as well as a Trunki suitcase and a Bombura bath robe. The unpaid invoice

His hot coffee in the nasty takeaway cup was starting to burn his hand as he reached his desk. He plonked the steaming drink onto a tattered piece of paper that somebody had dumped next to his computer. The accountant stared absentmindedly at the steam meandering through the small hole in the black plastic lid. He reached out to remove the lid from the cup. He hated how the scorching heat of black coffee singed his lips when he sucked it through the minuscule hole. He swore as the lid stuck to the cup and the whole container of boiling…

#RSPCAPetPeeves – my story

You may have read Pluto’s sorry tale of woe, and Jamer’s week in the life of a cat. So when the RSPCA got in touch and asked if we’d like to take part in their #RSPCAPetPeeves campaign, there was only one candidate for the role. Bubbles popped over last week to tell you all about her beauty regime, and now she’s back with a few more words of wisdom. #RSPCAPetPeeves by Bubbles Well I’ve been sent over to tell you all about my annoying habits. But of course, I don’t have any. So, I thought I’d tell you about my…

This past week has mostly revolved around changing my lifestyle to fit in more running. I knew I’d never manage to find the time in the daytime or the evenings, so most of my runs have had to take place first thing in the morning. So much to Bubbles’ delight, I’ve been up just after 6 am every morning and off out for a run. Whilst I’m not yet up to the sort of distances that I intend to get to, I’ve already run 25 miles since Sunday. Today and tomorrow I’ll be cycling and swimming instead of running, I think…

Not going on a diet

Over the past few months, my weight has been bothering me a bit. A few times, I’ve decided it was time to go on a diet, but something always gets in the way. A birthday, a meal with friends or just a nice bottle of cider on a Friday night. And that’s why I’m not going on a diet. I know lots of people do fabulously well with meal replacement or low calorie diets, but they’re really not for me. So, I tried to eat a bit more sensibly – I decided I needed a lifestyle change rather than a…

Webbs by the Beach: Review

We were lucky enough to be invited to spend a couple of hours at Webbs by the beach for the purpose of this blog post. I do love living in our little part of the West Midlands, it’s beautiful. I adore the Malvern hills and the fabulous Malvern Spa is just round the corner. The only thing that sometimes makes me consider moving is the fact it takes us such a ridiculously long time to get to a nice beach. If we want to head somewhere to play in the sand and swim in the sea, we have to drive…

Thursday Photo #115

Having put off the inevitable for quite some time, we finally decided that this was the week we’d move the children into bunk beds. Lia loved sleeping in a big bed when we were at Blairmore Farm and Bluestone, and I knew she would soon be climbing out of her cot. So, I found some beautiful pine bunk beds on eBay, and we took the plunge. This has meant quite a lot of work for both my husband and I, with me spending a considerable amount of yesterday moving furniture around, and him spending just as much time screwing bits…
