A Meaningful Christmas Gift Guide And Giveaway

I’m not very good at Christmas. In fact, my friend Stevie insists on calling me the Grinch. It’s not that I’m grumpy (I am a bit). It’s more that I would prefer Christmas to be more meaningful, less commercial and quite frankly, shorter. When all the shops put their decorations up in September, it doesn’t get me in the festive spirit. It just annoys me. So when Christmas does arrive, I tend to look for meaningful gifts that are beneficial to someone. Whether that be an educational toy, a charitable donation or an experience. So here is my meaningful Christmas gift list…

Prezzybox Christmas Gift Challenge and Giveaway

When I need to buy a gift, my first stop is always the Prezzybox website. I love the fact that they cater for literally everyone, from my two year old daughter to my (I could tell you but I’d have to kill you) year old dad. So when Prezzybox set me a Christmas gift challenge, I knew it would be both fun and ridiculously easy! Prezzybox gave me the profile of three fictional characters and I had to buy a gift for each of them from their website. I had a budget of £25 per person. So here are my…

BrightMinds: Review and Giveaway

This is a collaborative post. As my girls get older, I’m becoming increasingly aware of the need to buy them educational toys and activities. This seems particularly pertinent in Winter when they’re inside a bit more. Sometimes though, I do despair of the toys on offer. There is far too much unimaginative plastic tat in the world. So when BrightMinds got in touch and asked me if I’d like to review a couple of things from their website I was delighted. BrightMinds – The Concept BrightMinds was founded by a former science teacher. All their toys are handpicked to inspire…

Celebrating Britain’s Superpowers

This is a collaborative post. In homes up and down the country there are families with hidden talents. You might even call them superpowers. When npower researched our everyday superpowers, dad dancing and lip-syncing were ranked highly among the things that make Britain great. But there are other things too. Mums growing vegetables, dads baking cakes. Cats keeping the children entertained and dogs cleaning the floor after every meal. In fact there are so many hidden talents out there that npower wanted to celebrate them. They even roped in Peter Andre to help. What’s your superpower? So what’s your family’s superpower?…

Toddlebike2 – Review & Giveaway

When Libby was tiny, a friend of mine was kind enough to send us a Toddlebike for her birthday. At the time I’d never heard of Toddlebike, but it has since gone on to become probably the most used toy in our household. Toddlebike is designed to be the prequel to a balance bike. It teaches very young children to sit down on the bike and scoot along. And recently, Toddlebike has had a makeover. We’ve been lucky enough to be sent the Toddlebike2 to review. Toddlebike2 The Toddlebike2 is light, easy to climb onto and easy to steer. The handlebars…

Inspired Lines with Great Western Rail

This is a collaborative post. Great Western Railway (GWR) have done some research and found that in Britain, over a third of us feel we’ve lost our creativity as adults. I find that really sad and GWR decided it was time to do something about it. Great Western Rail Inspired Lines Competition The Great Western Rail Inspired Lines competition aims to get us all putting pen to paper. They’re asking us to write a short poem of a MAXIMUM of 50 words. The poem should be inspired by views from the train window on a GWR line. To help promote the competition,…

This is a collaborative post. All views, opinions and images are my own. The girls have been fans of Thomas and Friends for as long as I can remember.
