Drayton’s Magical Christmas Review

Thomas chuffed into Knapford station with his festive lights, reindeer antlers and red nose. All the children cheered before piling on for a Christmassy train ride. Past Santa, penguins and other characters made from fairy lights and back to the station. There, we disembarked and strolled into the middle of a snowstorm. About Drayton Manor Theme Park Located in Tamworth in the West Midlands, Drayton Manor is a small, friendly theme park. It boasts a dedicated Thomas Land area for young children, a themed area based around the little tank engine’s home on the island of Sodor. But fear not,…

10 things you need to know about Disney on Ice Passport to Adventure

The children sat, mesmerised by Captain Hook and his pirate ship gliding across the ice. Jolly pirates danced a jig to a well-known song and Tinkerbell flew through the air overhead. After last year’s Frozen show, they weren’t expecting such a vast array of colourful characters. Here’s what we learnt from watching the wonderful Disney On Ice Passport to Adventure. 1. Arrive early The atmosphere was electric outside the arena. Crowds of people milled around, looking for their entry gate. Excited children stood by posters of the cast to have their photograph taken, whilst adults queued to buy sparkly props.…

Halloween Spooktacular at National Forest Adventure Farm

The National Forest Adventure Farm is a brilliant family day out in Staffordshire. We visited yesterday for their Halloween Spook-tacular. At this time of year, it’s always going to be a bit hit and miss with the weather. But they’ve got it covered – with a soft play and café indoors and lots of outdoor seating that is undercover too. Luckily the weather was kind to us and we checked out their activity board before embarking on an entire day of outdoor fun. The Spooky Shows Is it just my children who put food above all else? We arrived at…

A day out for children at Kingfisher Shopping Centre

We whizzed around on the bumper cars, laughing at each other getting stuck. I couldn’t believe we were in a shopping centre. Not the sort of place I’d naturally go for a day out with young children. Let’s face it, shopping really is no fun for them. So, when I was asked to review the Kingfisher Shopping Centre in Redditch with the children, I was surprised. To adults, the inside of a shopping centre is bright, vibrant and full of opportunities. To children, I imagine it looks like this. Rather dull. The game changer – 360 Play Well, I can…

Follow the Christmas snow trail with walks, slides, sledges, snowball fights and snow tubes. If you’d prefer…

Octonauts Octo Glow Explorers at Sea Life Birmingham

Earlier this week, the girls and I headed to the National Sea Life Centre, Birmingham to check out their Octo-Glow Explorers event. We are delighted to be blogger ambassadors for Sea Life Birmingham this year. We’ll be heading there regularly to review all the latest events. Relaxing at the Sea Life Centre Whenever we head to the National Sea Life Centre, my reviews focus around the children. But I thought it was worth putting together a quick video to show you how relaxing it is for everyone. Interactive sea life I’m a big fan of interactive learning. Libby in particular is always…
