A Fathers Day gift for a grumpy old git

A Fathers Day gift for a grumpy old git

Last year, Prezzybox treated my dad to some gorgeous Father’s Day gifts. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, and dad had a strange request. He was so impressed with his shoe shine kit that he wanted another one. Or more specifically, he wanted another shoe-shining sponge.

Cue an email to the very understanding marketing assistant at Prezzybox. Much to her amusement, I asked how to get hold of another shoe shine sponge. Because dad didn’t want another shoe shine kit because he loved the one he already had. He just wanted a sponge on its own. Eventually I managed to track one down so you’ll be pleased to know, dad’s shoes are still shiny. And Prezzybox have kindly offered to send dad a gift for this father’s day too – and this time my husband has got in on the act as well.

The grumpy old git kit

I did chuckle when I found the grumpy old git kit on the Prezzybox website. I couldn’t think of a better present for my dad. It consists of a pair of socks, a packet of mints and a mug. All clearly labelled so you know exactly what you’re getting. A grumpy old git.

I am certain that dad will drink his coffee from the mug every day until it smashes. And in true grumpy old git style, he looks after things so well that it is unlikely to get smashed for at least 20 years. Actually, I wouldn’t be surprised if it outlived him. The tin of mints is perfect for keeping in his pocket, and I’m sure he’ll be refilling it when it runs out. And of course, every grumpy old git needs novelty socks.

I am your father

If your dad is a Star Wars fan, they will love this Darth Vader mug. My husband is the Star Wars fan around here, so he will be getting the ‘I am your father’ mug for Father’s Day from the girls. It would have made a perfect gift for Star Wars day as well!

Smartphone and tablet mini mount

Just over a year ago, we were agonising over whether to buy an iPad. I worried about the children having too much screen time, but equally I didn’t want Libby to be the only one who couldn’t use one when she started school. So in the end we decided to go ahead and buy one. And as it turned out, the person who ended up using it the most was my husband.

My husband watches television a lot more than myself and the children. So when he’s doing something around the house, he likes to have it on in the background. As we only have one television in the house, the iPad has been ideal for him. But sometimes, it is difficult to know where to put it so that he can see it.

I have surprised myself and started using the iPad as well. This has been predominantly for making vlogs and videos. Again, it can be awkward to find somewhere to put the iPad so that I can film without it tipping over.

The smartphone and tablet mini mount is the perfect solution. It is the ideal Father’s Day gift for a gadget loving dad. And I have to admit, it is a pretty perfect gift for an aspiring vlogger too. I’ll fight him for this one.
