National Trust Croome

I’ve always thought that days out as a family were a really important part of growing up, but with two children, it becomes really expensive for us all to go out.

We’ve had our National Trust membership for a couple of years now, and it’s a really economical way to have regular days out without paying a fortune.

We have visited numerous National Trust sites across the country, but one of our favourites is our local one at Croome in Worcestershire, so that’s where we headed to today.

We met up with a couple of our friends and spent the morning walking around in the beautiful, Capability Brown landscaped gardens before heading to the cafe for lunch and then having a look at the RAF museum.

At the moment, the house itself is being renovated and very cleverly, the National Trust have decided to enhance the scaffolding to make a viewing platform.

Today was all about being outdoors, but had the weather not been so great, there were plenty of beautiful things to look at indoors as well.

For us though, we were there for the beautiful winter sunshine, the unusual wildlife and the first signs of spring.

Croome is a National Trust property located in Worcestershire in the West Midlands. This is a great place for all the family with children's activities regularly taking place. It is suitable for a visit in both good and bad weather as there are indoor areas as well as the beautiful gardens to explore.

Oh, and the cake. We had a lovely lunch in the cafe, followed by the most fabulous ginger cake. Sorry Jane and Julie, you missed out there, we’ll go again when you’re not on a diet!

Visiting National Trust properties is a great way to make sure that we keep enjoying our local area. I’m hoping for more of these beautiful sunny winter days so we can keep on exploring. To find out more about Croome, head to their website.
