Christmas Sock Day 6th December 2016

This is a collaborative post.

Did you know that this year, there is an official Christmas sock day in aid of Cancer Research UK Kids and Teens? On 6th December, social media will be awash with the latest photo craze – sock selfies. Or #SOCKSIE for short.

Christmas Sock Day – how will you wear yours?

Official Christmas socks are now on sale in TK Maxx stores across the country. And a percentage of all profits from the sale of the Christmas socks will go to Cancer Research UK Kids and Teens. Plus, who doesn’t want to rock the sock?

But in my humble opinion, Christmas sock day could end up being a little bit dull if we all just wear our socks under our trousers. If we’re really going to celebrate in style on 6th December, you need to not only put your socks on, but get your socks out. So here are a few ideas on how to wear your Christmas socks in style!

1. The Sock Superhero

As we all know, superheroes wear their underpants outside their trousers. So sock superheroes need to get those Christmas socks on display over their trousers. And if you’re really brave, why not put them over your shoes as well? Apparently DIY sock boots are where it’s at this season anyway. You heard it here first.Christmas Sock Day 9th December 2016

2. The Dad Sock

Is it all dads that do this or just my dad? Socks under sandals or crocs. As a general rule, I’d tell you not to do it. Ever. But if you must do it, Christmas Sock Day is your chance to rock the socks under sandals look. What do you think?Christmas Sock Day 9th December 2016

3. Sock Puppets

Sometimes, wearing socks on your feet just doesn’t cut it does it? So if you can get away with it, why not turn Christmas Sock Day 2016 into Christmas Sock Puppet day? I challenge you to wear a Christmas sock puppet on your hand all day. Like so.Christmas Sock Day 9th December 2016

4. The Sock Adventurer

One small step for a sock, a giant leap for sock kind. Why not put your best sock forward and stride into the wilderness this Christmas Sock Day? How far will you get in your local countryside in just your socks?Christmas Sock Day 9th December 2016

5. Little Sock of Horrors

Why not add to the fundraising efforts by getting sponsored to have your feet in something a bit scary on Christmas Sock Day? Baked beans, rotten vegetables or just good old ice water. Eek, it’s time to put your best foot forward!Christmas Sock Day 9th December 2016Please note, I was sent some Christmas socks for the purpose of this blog post and compensated for my time. However all #SOCKSIE suggestions are my own but feel free to borrow them – do try this at home and remember the #SOCKSIE hashtag!

Hi Nat, how fun does Christmas sock day sound? And all in aid of a good cause. I actually think that Christmas socks should be compulsory to wear, with people being fined for not wearing them!

Love your fun ideas and I think the sock boot could catch on.

    xx
