Thursday Photo #121

Last weekend, we decided to head off camping for a few days. Coming from the Midlands, we usually go to the coast on holiday. We all love the beach and it feels like we should make the most of holidays to swim, surf and just play in the sand. But on a bank holiday weekend, wherever you go the coast is always busy.

Going somewhere inland for a few days in the Elan Valley was a bit of a revelation. The campsite was quite full but every pitch had an enormous amount of space. The scenery was stunning, and we were able to walk into lovely pubs and cafés and order food without having huge queues or a long wait. I will write a proper post about it over the next few days but suffice to say, it was beautiful.Weekly photo and update postWe went with some friends who had also joined us at Blairmore Farm earlier in the year and it was lovely to catch up with them. We spent the days outside, seeing red kites feeding, going for walks and just generally relaxing. The evenings passed eating together and then sitting around a little fire pit chatting and looking at the stars.

Since coming back the girls have been quite tired, and I’ve been desperately playing catch-up with work. But we’ve had a lovely day today visiting friends, and this weekend we’ll be heading to Eastnor Castle where they have a Knight’s School going on with medieval jousting.

This week is really all about making the most of the last few days before Libby goes to school. She is so excited about getting started and I’m delighted she’s looking forward to it so much. But I’m going to miss her, and so is Lia.

Despite that, I’m looking forward to getting back into some sort of a routine. My husband will be back to work after a few months off, Libby will be at school, Lia will be back to nursery one morning a week and with my mum another morning. And I will finally have a bit more time to work and hopefully even a bit of time to myself.

This week’s Thursday photo #121 was taken this morning. The girls have some beautiful clothes from Sense Organics to review and they were desperate to wear them, so we took a few photos before they spilt food on them. And as always, they posed perfectly sensibly to let me get some great photos.
