Our Thursday Photo #48

This week has been fabulous yet somewhat chaotic.

As you may have noticed, we’ve been pretty much incommunicado over the Easter weekend. We went camping for a few days to Parkers Farm in Devon.

This is the sort of campsite that hubby and I would have been horrified by pre-children.

It’s buzzing with activity with play parks dotted throughout the site and a family and dog friendly bar and restaurant.

It is a sign of how things have changed that these days, Parkers Farm is everything we look for in a camp site.

There are numerous farm animals that you can go and see any time. You can also help to feed the animals and ride the tractor at particular times.

The bar and restaurant have a basic food menu for both adults and children, and there is a room in which dogs are welcome.

There is also WiFi available for a small cost, which I used for Lia’s white noise that she wouldn’t sleep without. I chose not to use it for work or blogging though, it was great to have some time off.

When we came back from camping, we had a day in Drayton Manor yesterday and then today, we went to Countrytastic at our local showground.

This was another great day out, both girls loved seeing all the animals. Libby was disappointed that she didn’t see the snakes this year, because she held one around her neck last year and has been talking about it ever since.

But she still enjoyed seeing all the other animals, particularly the ones she could stroke. But the highlight of her day was the tractor ride, which is odd really because she went on two tractors while we were camping. Apparently you can never ride too many tractors.

Unfortunately, Lia didn’t have such a good day. Having enjoyed her morning and her lunch, Lia wanted to walk along holding hands. Hubby and I made the mistake of swinging her whilst she was walking.

Cue tears and screaming and we realised that Lia wasn’t using her arm properly. I took her to our local hospital to be checked out and she had a pulled elbow. This was easily rectified and she is now fine. Which doesn’t stop us from feeling horribly guilty.

Luckily, when we came back from the hospital, Libby was at hand to take care of Lia and cheer her up. After checking how her arm was, Libby let Lia watch nursery rhymes with her and they both had a dance.

Here is our Thursday Photo #48. I love the way Lia is looking at Libby, I think she is really starting to look up to her.
