A tea party for dogs with Harringtons

Our dogs are a huge part of the family. We take them on holiday – last year they came over on the boat with us to the Isle of Wight; they come with us on days out, play with the children and generally get involved with everything that’s going on.

So when Harringtons contacted us and asked if we’d like to throw the dogs a party, I thought it was a brilliant idea! This afternoon while the girls were having a nap, there was a knock at the door. Bubbles has a sixth sense for when a delivery is for her, so she was first there to greet the delivery man. And of course, she was right. It was time for the dogs’ Harringtons tea party.

Our Harringtons tea party

First, they put on their bow ties and took a few selfies. They even posed for some more formal portraits.

Then we laid the table for a tea party. And of course, every good tea party needs a cup and saucer – and someone to drink from it. If ever there was a dog who was born to drink from a cup and saucer, it was Pluto. So he was first in line, but Bubbles soon came along to share.

As well as bow ties, a selfie frame and some bunting, Harringtons kindly sent the dogs a Harringtons mixed selection box and some small dog bowls for them to eat from. So they sat to the table and got stuck in.

And of course, the other essential ingredient for the perfect tea party is some of your best friends being there as your guests. Well I did say previously that the dogs were part of the family, and Harringtons gave us everything we needed for the family to join in with the tea party.

Our dogs have had such a lovely time getting involved with the Harringtons party. They are also looking forward to polishing off the rest of their mixed selection box. The chicken and potato with vegetables pack that they tried today was definitely a hit!

Win your own Harringtons tea party for your pooch!

If your dogs would like to have their own party, you can win them their very own Harringtons party pack. One lucky winner’s pooch will receive a food pack of either 6 x 150 mixed flavours or 4 x 400 mixed flavours, some bowls to eat from, bow ties, a selfie frame, some dog masks and even some DogBuddy poo bags to clean up afterwards.

You can enter using the very simple rafflecopter below. Good luck!

Misty makes me laugh every day! Today, she tried to steal a toy from Cookie and in doing so, got herself tangled in her blanket….as if that wasn’t enough, she decided to growl at and shake her blanket!

After being in heat, our chihuahua thought she had been pregnant and given birth to a pup – emmmmm – my sock! She carried my sock around for three weeks, slept with it and growled if anyone tried to take it from her. She is now booked in to be spayed!

My brother’s working cocker spaniel is really well trained but equally mental. Been telling my MIL how much better trained he is than her dogs (he has a few rosettes from their local class and can’t be taught any more) so when they were here she came over to see him. But he got really excited while she was taking her shoes off (no not *that*) and started jumping around. Anyway he ended up head butting her while trying to lick her face then leaping around my living room all over the sofas in uncontrollable excitement! It took him about 5 solid minutes to calm down while my MIL got over the shock of being headbutted by a dog in her face.

He is so well trained that my brother can put treats on his head and tell him to stay. My MILs dogs barely sit when you ask haha.

He once made me laugh when i gave him a homemade yorkshire pudding, he held it between his paws then spent 5mins nibbling on it lol (i felt honoured)

We have a wooden floor in the living room. Many times Briar has come rushing in and her legs go in four directions, or she goes sliding across the floor. Has happened many times, but always amuses. Wouldn’t be so bad, but she hates having her claws clipped!

Saw this the other day, read it but forgot to comment! Doh!

We took Samson out for a walk and bumped into another Westie. She was lovely and friendly and I made a little fuss of her. I think Samson got a little jealous because he decided to “scent” me! I ended up going home with a soaked leg and trainer where I wasn’t quick enough to move!

My dog hides treats around the house and insists on sharing a biscuit with me (usually by dropping it on me in bed) at bedtime. I think she thinks I should have it just in case I get hungry at night.

One of my 3 dogs,Louis,is a Saluki x greyhound x antelope x wookie x kangaroo! He has a very deep butch bark but is a real baby and happily lets our 6 cats cuddle up with him. Today on his walk a neighbour”s cat attacked him! There was a lot of hissing and swearing and calling of names and the cat kept punching poor Louis in the face.Louis bravely hid behind his dog walker! Luckily he wasn”t injured but it was a very traumatic experience and poor Louis has lost all his street cred with all the other dogs in our neighbourhod!

Gimli makes me laugh every meal time as he likes to play football with his dried dog food – he takes a piece into the other room and you have to kick it for him to chase and eat before he will eat the rest of his food normally.

My gorgeous beagle Mr Toz is very mischievous
One down whilst exerting him on our local field there was a father and son flying a kite the other side on seeing this colourful thing a few feet in the air he raced across the field took one leap in the air and ran off with their kite, I was mortified so too were they they were Chinese and on holiday here and we’re so shocked it costed me a new kite and some chocolate to apologise on his behalf as for him he loved running around in circles hoping for us to chase him

When our gorgeous boy was a few months old, we had popped out fir an hour, when we returned we found him in the back garden. We were very confused as we left in in the house and locked the doors as you do. When he saw us he bolted back into the house – he had obviously been stufying the cats as he had taught himself to use the cat flap!
