In the midst of birthday mania a few weeks ago, I was offered the opportunity to review some items from House of Party. Of course, it came at the perfect time for us as for the past few weeks, there has been a tea party or garden party on the cards every weekend.
With the children’s parties already sorted, I took the opportunity to use some of the fabulous things that House of Party have on offer for adults. They sent us some gorgeous items from their Vintage Rose collection, as well as these cute Little Owl Cake Picks. It was actually really lovely to have some lovely party items for an adults party, instead of just doing as we usually do and getting by with what we had. The vintage rose design is beautiful and I can see why it is popular with people using it for weddings. That said, it’s ideal for an afternoon tea party as well.
We had a reusable pink tablecloth, some vintage rose napkins, a cupcake stand, paper cups, bunting, sweetie bags, paper plates and Libby’s personal favourites – the party poppers. I really loved the fact that the party poppers were gold and silver instead of the usual colours. They looked a lot more grown up and the girls found it really exciting that they were shiny, as you can see!
I really like the fact that the designs on each piece are subtly different, yet they are all tied together by the theme. The plates look perfect with the large rose in the middle, whereas the rose detailing on the napkins is a lot more subtle.
It was a shame that we weren’t able to be outside for our party that day, because despite being disposable, all of the items were good quality enough to have lived up to eating outside and moving around. As it was though, they worked perfectly in my dad’s dining room, with the bunting adding a really nice touch and bringing together the look of the room itself with all the items on the table.
We do have a large family and there’s always someone with a birthday or a reason to celebrate. I’d definitely go back to House of Party next time we have a little get together – both for classy grown up items like these and for their children’s party selection.
Please note, these items were sent to us free of charge by House of Party in return for an honest review. All views, opinions and party popper adorned children are my own. And for the record, the big cake was supposed to be chocolate – but that’s a whole different story.
