This time last week, I was nervously looking forward to my trip to the Black Forest. I was excited of course, but it would be the first time I’d left my girls for more than a night since I had them. As it turned out, I didn’t have much to worry about. We were all sad when I left and the few nights I was to be away seemed like a lifetime. Libby in particular was upset, but she coped with it well and I went on my way. I had an amazing trip and going to the Black Forest was…

The Black Forest – Europe’s best kept secret

Germany’s Black Forest region ticks all the boxes as a family holiday destination. What’s more, it’s only an hour away from the UK by plane. I headed to the Baden-Baden region to check out what it has to offer for families. Baden-Baden In the heart of the Black Forest lies a picturesque little city called Baden-Baden. It is serviced by Baden Airpark, a small but well-equipped airport. Ryanair fly there direct from London Stansted. This past week, we’ve been taking things quite easy. Lots of swimming and a few mornings at home to allow for the dreaded potty training. Lia has been ready to come out of nappies for a while, and she is capable of mastering the potty – as she has demonstrated. Unfortunately, she is also very, very stubborn. So potty training is progressing – but it’s doing so rather more slowly than it ever did with Libby. Lia’s not yet ready for going out without a nappy, but she’s managing to use the potty most of the time while we’re at…

Caffe Concerto – Grand Central Birmingham

Yesterday morning, I headed into Birmingham for a meeting at the beautiful Caffe Concerto. It’s not often I attend a blogging event without the girls – in fact, I’m not sure I ever have. But if all events are as fabulous as the one I went to this morning, I’m on a mission to go to a few more. About Grand Central Shopping Centre Grand Central shopping centre is conveniently located right above the Birmingham New Street train station. I had always assumed that the shopping centre was part of the station, but as it turns out my assumption was totally…
