This past week, we’ve been taking things quite easy. Lots of swimming and a few mornings at home to allow for the dreaded potty training. Lia has been ready to come out of nappies for a while, and she is capable of mastering the potty – as she has demonstrated. Unfortunately, she is also very, very stubborn. So potty training is progressing – but it’s doing so rather more slowly than it ever did with Libby. Lia’s not yet ready for going out without a nappy, but she’s managing to use the potty most of the time while we’re at…

Caffe Concerto – Grand Central Birmingham

Yesterday morning, I headed into Birmingham to chat with the team from Grand Central shopping centre at the beautiful Caffe Concerto. It’s not often I attend a blogging event without the girls – in fact, I’m not sure I ever have. But if all events are as fabulous as the one I went to this morning, I’m on a mission to go to a few more. Grand Central shopping centre is conveniently located right above the Birmingham New Street train station. Back to School with House of Fraser

This summer is all about getting ready for school. We’ve bought school uniform, books, PE kit and we’ve been to the library to learn about Roald Dahl for a project next term. Whilst we are making the most of the last few weeks we’ve all got together before September, we’re also very aware of the importance of being ready and relaxed about Libby’s first day. The one thing we hadn’t purchased was a school bag. Libby has a lovely miniature suitcase that she’s been taking to nursery for over a year, but I felt that it was a bit heavy…

Palm Oil Free Product Recommendations August 2016

When I first started trying to avoid palm oil, I found it really difficult. I was constantly searching labels and trawling websites. But luckily, since launching my Shop Palm Oil Free website, I’ve found loads of amazing products. As a result it ends up being easy to become complacent, falling into the trap of finding things I love and buying the same ones again and again. Luckily, as my website has become more popular, people have been contacting me, asking me to include their products on the website. As a result I’ve ended up trying quite a few more things. So here…

The girls amaze me with the way they change and develop every day, but this week has been really quite exceptional. Libby in particular has pulled achievement after achievement out of the bag, delighting herself with her own abilities. For a while now, she has been learning to ride her bike without stabilisers. We initially removed the stabilisers when we were in Loch Leven, and we’ve since practised on a few occasions. But this week, she has got to a point where she can just get on the bike and ride off. I’m very aware how safe she needs to be…
