Fun Christmas gift ideas and a giveaway with CoolStuff

With Christmas rapidly approaching, it’s time to grab those last minute gifts. The problem is, most of us put off buying the difficult gifts until the last minute then spend ages wondering what to get the person who has everything. Thankfully, CoolStuff have some great ideas. This online gift and gadget store was originally from Sweden and they’re now expanding to the UK. The variety of products on their site is excellent, ideal for those last few awkward people whose gifts you can’t quite decide on.

Portable folding hammock

There’s not much that brings me more joy in the warmer months than lying on a hammock. But unless you are lucky enough to have an orchard in the garden, it can be a bit of a pain to put one up. The portable folding hammock from CoolStuff is the ideal solution. The frame goes up easily within a minute, then you just hook on the hammock and climb in. If you want me next summer, I’ll be lying in my hammock.

Pizza stone made from Mount Etna lava

Last summer, we spent a week at Pencarnan Farm in Pembrokeshire. Whilst we were there, we enjoyed fresh pizzas from their pizza oven. It’s something I’d love to replicate at home, but as a house move is on the horizon, I’m not ready to build a pizza oven in the garden. A pizza stone is a great alternative. Simply warm it slowly in the oven, then slide the pizza dough onto it to cook. The pizza base will cook slowly from below, making it crispy in the same way as a pizza oven. It can also be used on a grill and to cook crispy breads.

Slackline kit

Balance is a great skill for both children and adults to learn and improve. A slackline can be used anywhere, simply string it up between two points. Then, jump on and try to walk along it. It’s more difficult than it looks! This is a great outdoor activity for children, because you can take it anywhere with you and put it up between any two points. Ours will be going in our camper van to keep the children occupied when we’re camping.

Sorbet maker

For some parents, getting children to eat enough fruit can be a real struggle. But persuading them to eat ice cream or sorbet is usually a lot easier. This sorbet maker allows you to create a healthy sorbet using frozen fruit. It’s easy to use and comes with a manual that includes recipes to give you some inspiration.

Denver wake-up light alarm clock

The Denver wake-up light alarm clock serves as both an alarm and a bedside lamp. It provides cosy, soft lighting whenever you want, and wakes you up gently to the sound of birdsong and a light that gradually increases in brightness. A much better way to start the day than being startled by a noisy alarm.

Towel dress

Whether you’re into open water swimming or just looking for an easier way to get changed after a shower, a towel dress is a revelation. Simply put one arm through the strap, wrap it around you and put it the other arm through. The towel stays around you, drying you off while you carry on with whatever else you need to do. For me, this is a godsend when I get out of the river. It makes getting dry and warm a much quicker process.

Kitchen tools

Some fruits and vegetables are delicious to eat but a complete pain to prepare. The 3-in-1 avocado slicer peels, removes the stone and slices an avocado, removing the hassle so you can get on with eating it. A pineapple peeler is equally useful, removing the skin and core and cutting the pineapple into rings. We have had one of these in the past and completely stopped eating pineapples after the dog ate it. Thankfully this one is made from metal so I suspect even Bubbles won’t be able to destroy our new-found love of pineapples.

Stocking fillers

We’ve picked up some lovely little stocking fillers for the girls from CoolStuff. They’re enjoying Harry Potter at the moment, so we’ve got them some Bertie Bott’s every flavour beans. They’re going to be delighted but I’m fairly sure one of us is going to end up eating an earwax flavoured sweet on Christmas morning! We’ve also got them a fidget spinner each. They used to have them and were gutted when they broke, so they’ll be delighted to see a new one in their stockings.

For Lia, we’ve got a colour-changing unicorn mug. Like many little girls at the moment, she is a huge unicorn fan and she’s going to love watching its mane change colour when she has a hot chocolate. Lastly, I got a small stocking filler for my husband. I just know we’ll argue over the folding hammock, so I’ve got him a Vagaborn super hammock. This one is small enough to fit in your pocket, and easy to hang up.
