A toddler masters Soft Play

Today, we were lucky enough to be invited to the new Dennis the Menace themed play zone at the Guild Brewers Fayre in Bromsgrove. Libby hasn’t had that much experience at soft play, I think realistically she has only recently become big enough to venture out of the toddler area. She soon made up for that though.

There was a huge whirly slide (technical term). She insisted on repeatedly climbing all the way to the top all by herself, completely unperturbed by all the much bigger children who were playing in there. Lia of course remained in the toddler area, which she really rather enjoyed.

They met Dennis the menace and Santa, both of whom Lia took in her stride. I captured a particularly cute photo of her completely captivated by Santa, a lovely memory of her first Christmas.

Libby, on the other hand, was a little more nervous. She was really tired by the time we got to Santa and refused to speak to him. As you can see, she was also rather unsure about Dennis!

Over lunch, Brewer’s Fayre were kind enough to provide entertainment for the children in the form of colouring books, and for the dad’s in the form of balloons… this is what the balloons were for isn’t it??

Libby was also delighted to have her face painted. Unfortunately, shortly after that it fell upon my shoulders to tell her it was time to go home, cue meltdown, tears and smudged face paint. I guess the horrified reaction on having to go home is a sign of what a great time she had while we were there. All in all a lovely morning, thanks very much to everyone there for all their hard work.
