Thursday Photo #83

I’ve sat down to write this post about what we’ve all been up to over the past week and I genuinely have no idea. I’ve reached that extra special kind of tired the likes of which I haven’t seen for a long time. Quite a while ago, I wrote about how my husband thought I was constantly battling an overwhelming urge to do nothing. And now, all these months later and fully aware that I am breaking the habit of a lifetime, I agree with him. But it’s not an urge to do nothing for an extended period of time…

Christmas traditions: competition

With this being Libby’s third Christmas, we are starting to develop our own Christmas traditions. I have to admit, some of them are a little bit odd. To my beautiful girls, You are the last thing I think about at night when I try to get some sleep. I think about all the times that day when I’ve raised my voice to you. All the times I’ve had to work when you wanted me to play. I think about how quickly you’re growing up, how much you are changing. And about the things I miss when I’m not with you. I remember the times when you’ve been trying to get my attention whilst I’ve been talking or doing something. And the times you’ve asked to paint, bake…

Our Thursday Photo #82

I am finally organising myself for Christmas. When I say finally, I don’t mean that early December is late to start getting ready for Christmas. I mean that this is the first year I’ve ever been vaguely organised. I’ve baked Christmas cake, bought a tree and decorations (they’re going up on Saturday) and I’ve even bought a few gifts. I’ve been fairly overrun with work as usual and on Monday, I went to the Co-op to buy some wine. Having got to bed at around 2 am on Sunday night, I was in my usual haggard state. I grabbed my bottle…
