Pet Facts

Having spent all of my time lately worrying about babies and toddlers, I was delighted to be given the opportunity to write a post about pets. The first thing we did when we got all of our pets was to insure them. In Soxa’s case, this has saved us literally thousands of pounds. She is the world’s most accident prone dog with injury after injury after illness. I have no idea how we would have coped if she hadn’t been insured. That’s why we didn’t get another cat until we could afford to insure her, I couldn’t live with the guilt…

Introducing Baby Sister!

Well, after much anticipation, Evelia (Lia for short) finally put in an appearance yesterday, weighing in at a massive 9lbs 15oz, what a whopper!  Libby is delighted to have a baby sister and Lia has fitted right in. I am wearing her in a ring sling so we’re to keep going with Libby’s normal routine and baby sister just tags along. Induction was horrific as expected, but not as bad as last time. We came home from hospital yesterday and we’re both doing fine. I will post some more updates soon!

Facing the dreaded induction again

Well, as predicted it’s 11 days after my due date and I’m still pregnant. Induction is booked for tomorrow, I’ve been given a 50/50 chance of going into labour before then but I think the midwife was just being nice. My Bishop score was only 5, so from what I’ve read the odds of going into labour naturally are pretty small. I’ve tried all the old wives tales, as predicted they didn’t work. It does make me think back to my last induction, not a particularly positive experience so I’m hoping that it will be a little bit better this time. When…

A well timed price cut!

As I am currently on maternity leave, finances are somewhat tight at the moment. We usually do our monthly shop online and spend around £200. We also nip to the shop as and when we need fresh fruit and veg. This month though, Morrisons have cut all of their prices and I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to be one of the #MorrisonsMums, receiving £80 worth of vouchers to buy our meals for the weekend. More information about the price cuts can be found here: www.morrisons.com/pricecuts For us, particularly with the new pricing, £80 goes an awful…

Our morning routine – the calm before the storm!

I was lucky enough to receive three packets of belVita Breakfast biscuits in return for posting about our #MorningStories. I thought I’d take the opportunity to post now while it’s just Libby and I getting ready in the mornings. As soon as we throw a baby into the equation our nice little morning routine is going to be so different! Libby and I are not morning people. At all. Unlike most toddlers, Libby rarely gets up before 8 am, it’s usually a bit later. For me, this is great because I do my work when she’s sleeping so when I’m…
