Food, Glorious Food

Libby has always enjoyed food. She eats anything that we give her, even if it’s spicy, strongly flavoured or otherwise unusual. She has always eaten what we eat and we never really gave her jars of baby food. Generally, it’s really convenient that she eats the same as us. We all eat together and I just cook one big meal that will sometimes last us a couple of days. Nothing beats a good book!

Having written a blog post yesterday about words that inspire me, it seemed apt that a couple of books arrived today for Libby to review. Books are such an important part of a child’s education, whether they are formally learning from them, reading them to pass the time or, like Libby, just playing with the pages and listening to the story. I was greatly influenced by some of the books I grew up reading. They have enriched my vocabulary, broadened my knowledge and improved my writing skills. Pre-race dinner!

Tomorrow is a big day for all of us, especially Libby. Her dad and I are running a half marathon and Libby is competing in her first race- a 1km walk that she will be doing with her aunty Emma.    We always have pasta for dinner the night before a race, so this seemed like the perfect opportunity to try the new Mediterranean Chicken Pasta + Cheesy Crumb Topping from the Schwartz range.
