10 easy crafts for young children

With half term upon us, it’s great to have a few craft activities to turn to when the children need entertaining. I’ve done a few craft projects this year and I’ve also seen some amazing crafts from other bloggers. So I thought I’d share 10 of my favourites. These are all really simple crafts for young children. None of them take any specialist equipment and children can really get involved. 1. Paper plate birds Jenny from The Gingerbread House has been making paper plate birds with her little ones. Upcycling an old photo frame to create a masterpiece

Like all children, my two love nothing more than getting the craft things out and creating a ‘masterpiece’. They are happy to sit and cut, stick and colour for hours on end. We had an incident a few months back where the end of the pen ended up in her mouth, which made her sick. And even on a good day, more pen ends up on her than on the paper. And don’t get me started on the mess she makes…

Easy crafts: Valentine’s day card and matching envelope

Valentine’s day in our house has a history of being disastrous. In fact our first ever Valentine’s day together involved going to watch England play Wales in the Six Nations Rugby. He’s Welsh, I’m English and I think that probably says it all. Since then Valentine’s has deteriorated to such an extent that the year before last he accidentally bought me a birthday card. Since then we’ve given up completely. Making a Valentine’s card I’m not under any illusions about me getting anything for Valentine’s day this year. But at the very least, I thought it would be nice to make…
