A Winter weekend at Bluestone Wales

As Autumn turns to Winter, time seems to slow down. Weeks and months drag on. Exercise levels decline and exposure to the outdoors decreases. It’s no wonder then that most of us find this time of year tough. The one thing that seems to help is taking a break. Getting away from the daily grind and better still, getting outdoors and active. And there’s nowhere better to do that than Bluestone, the home of Free Range Breaks. Accommodation at Bluestone The self-catering accommodation at Bluestone is an ideal home from home. Beautiful wooden lodges offer upside-down living, with the bedrooms…

Bluestone Wales Review

We were lucky enough to be invited to review the Bluestone Wales holiday destination. We had a four-night mid-week stay free of charge to allow us to do so. Booking activities at Bluestone Wales Once our stay had been booked for us, I received a booking confirmation email from Bluestone Wales. The email contained a link, through which I was able to book additional activities and services. For example, outdoor activities and buggies could be added to our booking at any time. This made it particularly convenient to add activities to our order both before travelling and during our stay. Special offers…

Our Thursday Photo #35

I’ve just sat down to write this post and looked back at last week’s Thursday photo to check what number I was up to. I can’t believe my last Thursday photo was only a week ago, we’ve had so many adventures since then.  Today, we made the most of our last full day at Bluestone. We went swimming in the Blue Lagoon then headed over to the adventure centre for soft play before lunch. After lunch, hubby took Libby to toddler sensory while Lia had a nap. Toddler sensory was just Libby’s sort of thing, playing with gym equipment and…

Wow, what a day

Today has been another hectic yet fantastic day at Bluestone National Park. We started off the morning with messy play for both children. Of course, the idea was that they could get messy. All the children got messy, within reason. Only my two took it to this extreme.  The messy play was great, everything was edible and there were a variety of things to do including painting, non-Newtonian fluid (cornflower solution), glittery things, jelly, custard and water.  Libby took it all very seriously, as she tends to do.  Lia also had fun, causing both mess and chaos in her own…

We’re on an adventure!

This morning, for the first time since having Lia last May, I had three whole hours to myself when I wasn’t working. As you can imagine, I used my time wisely, enjoying a spa at the Bluestone National Park resort in Pembrokeshire.  On arrival, I had a short consultation before being given a luxurious robe, towel and slippers and being shown to the changing rooms to get into my swimming costume to use the spa facilities.  The changing rooms were so luxurious I had to take a quick photo. I spent an incredibly relaxing two hours in the two steam…

Wow, what a day!

Today, it must be said, didn’t start well. In fact if I’m honest, the problems started late last night when we realised that the MOT on our car had expired. We were due to go to Bluestone National Park resort in Pembrokeshire this morning, approximately a three hour journey.  Mercifully, I managed to book it in last minute at Halfords. Considering I booked it at around midnight, I was able to get an appointment for first thing in the morning. I then ended up working until 4 am, giving me just under three hours sleep before getting up at 7…
