Our Thursday Photo #74

Sadly Libby, Lia and I are still limping along as a threesome this week, with their dad still not home from hospital after his accident. It’s pretty difficult being the only functioning adult in the household, especially as a freelancer as I have no capacity to stop working. It has made me more picky about the work I’m taking on though, even down to basics like replying to emails. I have always made sure that I reply to people emailing me about work, even if just out of courtesy. This past week, I’ve only been replying if I’m interested in…

This week has been rather a busy one, even by my standards. Work has got a bit out of hand and I’ve found myself battling to keep up with it all.  Despite this, we’ve managed to fit in our usual activities and a few extra ones and the girls have had a great week.  The highlight for Libby was going to see her friend at one of her favourite places, Cob House near Worcester. They have a few farm animals there including some reindeer and alpacas.  There are just enough animals for all of them to be exciting to see…

This week has been a little bit of a struggle if truth be told. So I’ll spare you the sugar coating.  Firstly, nothing bad has actually happened. We’re just all a bit below par, and I reserve my right to tell it like it is.  Both girls have had a cold this week, resulting in both of them being up in the night – obviously not at the same time, they took it in turns to make sure we felt just as rubbish as them.  And the result? We do! Let’s have a round of applause for the sprogs.  And…

Who is in my photo?

This  morning, I took the girls and the dogs for a walk. I know, very boring and unremarkable.  And despite having a baby, a toddler, a dog and a puppy in tow, we had a suitably unremarkable walk.  Since Bubbles turned up, we’ve been putting a lot of effort into training her to do the basics like sit, stay and walking to heel. This has led to Libby frequently taking responsibility for Pluto and I’m really proud of how well they’re getting along. So as we were walking, I turned around to take a photo of them together. I was focussing on…

This week has been fabulous yet somewhat chaotic.  As you may have noticed, we’ve been pretty much incommunicado over the Easter weekend. We went camping for a few days to Parkers Farm in Devon.   This is the sort of campsite that hubby and I would have been horrified by pre-children. It’s buzzing with activity with play parks dotted throughout the site and a family and dog friendly bar and restaurant.  It is a sign of how things have changed that these days, Parkers Farm is everything we look for in a camp site.  There are numerous farm animals that you can go…

This week has been mainly about Libby, just the way she likes it. We’ve been to the eye hospital with her twice and they have realised that her sight isn’t too good and given her a prescription for some glasses.  We’re off to choose the glasses on Saturday and I’m hoping it will make a huge difference to her. I had no idea she had sight problems and the pictures she couldn’t see in the initial tests were still really quite large and it surprised me a little bit.  It sounds like her sight could get better or worse as…

Our Thursday Photo #38

Libby has been busy making herself the centre of attention this week. At a time when I hear on the news that children are no longer learning to speak properly because of their reliance on iPads and computers, Libby is proving them all wrong.  This evening, I put Lia to bed and went to see Libby. She comes and sits with me for a few minutes after Lia has fallen asleep. When I went in today, the conversation went something like this:  Libby: Is Lia asleep?  Me: Yeah, she is.  Libby: She’s very good now isn’t she? She’s sleeping well…
