Dog friendly pubs in Worcestershire

Looking for dog friendly pubs in Worcestershire? Whether you’re planning a walk on the Malvern Hills, exploring Broadway or visiting Worcester city centre, there are plenty of pubs where your four-legged friend can join you for food and drinks.

I’ve put together this guide to dog friendly pubs across Worcestershire, organised alphabetically by town to make it easier to find somewhere nearby. From traditional country pubs with roaring fires to riverside beer gardens and welcoming places for Sunday lunch, there’s something for everyone.

Where possible, I’ve included information about which areas of each pub welcome dogs, as some only allow them in the bar or beer garden. I’ve also included personal recommendations for pubs I know particularly well, especially around Malvern.

Dog policies can change, so please check directly with the pub before visiting.

If you’re planning a longer day out, take a look at my guide to dog friendly days out in the West Midlands and the best dog walks in the West Midlands for more places to explore with your dog. For other pubs nearby to visit with your dog, check out my list of dog friendly pubs in Herefordshire.

Dog friendly pubs in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire

There are multiple Bromsgrove pubs listed as dog-friendly on Google, but their websites and social media don’t mention it. I have therefore only included the dog friendly pubs in Bromsgrove that are clear about their dog policy on their website.

The Ewe & Lamb, Bromsgrove

The Ewe & Lamb has a dog friendly bar area. They ask that you let them know when booking whether you will have a dog with you. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as cocktails and they also have a children’s menu available.

The Robin Hood claims to be the best dog friendly pub in Droitwich. A bold claim! They only allow dogs in their bar area and are happy to bring over a bowl of water for your pet if you ask at the bar. Dating back to Victorian times, the Robin Hood serves hearty pub classics and seasonal dishes. Their well-stocked bar includes cask ales and a selection of gins. They also boast a garden and log fires.

Dog friendly pubs in Evesham, Worcestershire

Looking on Tripadvisor, quite a few pubs in Evesham seem to be dog friendly. However, many of them make no mention of this on their website or Facebook page, so I am reluctant to include them in here in case that is no longer applicable. I have only listed pubs that explicitly say on either social media or the website that they are dog friendly.

The Norton Grange, Evesham

The Norton Grange is a traditional dog friendly pub in Norton, near Evesham, with original oak beams, a cosy interior and a large beer garden and patio for warmer days. Dogs are warmly welcomed, making it a good choice for a relaxed drink or a meal with your four-legged friend. The pub serves a range of traditional pub favourites, including Sunday roasts, and also has a children’s play area and on-site parking. Whether you’re stopping for lunch or meeting friends for a drink, it’s a welcoming option for dog owners exploring the Vale of Evesham. The pub confirms on its own website that dogs are welcome.

Address: Evesham Road, Norton, Evesham, Worcestershire, WR11 4TL

Dog friendly pubs in Kidderminster

Loads of the pubs in Kidderminster seem to be owned by Marston’s. Whilst I have seen people saying on Google that some of these are dog friendly, I have found other information saying that Marston’s pubs are not dog friendly. In the absence of any information about their dog policy on their websites or social media, I haven’t included them in this list.

Mare & Colt, Kidderminster

Located in a Victorian building beside the A449, the Mare & Colt is in Summerfield village on the outskirts of Kidderminster. This old-fashioned pub offers real ale, British food and a garden area outside where patrons can sit under parasols. Their website mentions that the pub is dog friendly but it’s not clear whether this is the case throughout or just in certain areas.

Address: Worcester Road, Summerfield, Worcestershire, DY11 7RF

Dog friendly pubs in Malvern

There are loads of dog friendly pubs in Malvern, with many of them ideally located for walking on the Malvern Hills. The Nag’s Head, the Chase at Upper Colwall and the Swan at Newland are all owned by the same person. These three are particularly dog friendly throughout and always have water bowls available.

The Bluebell, Malvern

Located in Barnard’s Green, the Bluebell is dog friendly in its bar areas. Decent coffee, pub food, a friendly atmosphere and plenty of parking make it an ideal place to meet friends during the day.

Address: Barnard’s Green, Malvern WR14 3QP

The Brewer’s Arms, West Malvern

The Brewer’s Arms in West Malvern is an extremely unusual pub. It has been open and closed multiple times over the past few years, until the community clubbed together to buy it at the end of 2022. It doesn’t look like they serve food every day, but they are open Wednesday to Sunday for drinks and serve pie and mash on Thursday evenings. The pub is dog friendly indoors and out, with stunning views across Herefordshire from the garden. This is a lovely place to stop on a Malvern hills dog walk, located almost directly below the top of the Worcestershire Beacon.

Address: Lower Dingle, West Malvern, WR14 4BQ

The Chase Inn, Upper Colwall

The Chase is a popular pub in Upper Colwall near Malvern. It’s a small pub serving good pub food, particularly famous locally for excellent Sunday lunches. Its beer garden boasts beautiful countryside views and dogs are welcome both indoors and out.

Address: Upper Colwall, Malvern, Worcestershire, WR13 6DJ

The Fox, Bransford

The Fox at Bransford is a short drive from Malvern but it is a friendly countryside pub with a nice menu that welcomes dogs. Located beside the River Teme, this Grade II listed pub serves traditional pub food. They sell real ales and have function rooms for events and meetings. This is both family and dog friendly, but it’s not clear whether this is throughout the pub or in the bar only. Do check they’re open before visiting, particularly in bad weather as this pub does sometimes flood due to its riverside location.

Address: Bransford Court Lane, Bransford, Worcestershire, WR6 5JL

The Nag’s Head, Malvern

The Nag’s Head is one of my favourite dog friendly pubs anywhere. Both the bar and restaurant are spacious with log fires and lots of little snugs. They serve posh pub food with great vegetarian and vegan options and an excellent selection of real ales. Look out for the fantastic vegan scotch eggs made locally that are often for sale at the bar. With dogs allowed in the pub, restaurant and two beer gardens, this is a great place to take your pooch. Dog treats are usually for sale on the bar to raise money for a local dog charity.

Address: 19-21 Bank Street, Malvern, Worcestershire, WR14 2JG

The Swan Inn, Newland

Serving something between posh pub food and gastro pub food, the Swan at Newland is a lovely place to go for a meal or drinks where your dog will be as welcome as you are. This one is outside of town but well worth the effort to get to, particularly if you’re eating. Dogs can go in the bar, restaurant and beer garden.

Address: Worcester Road, Newland, Malvern, Worcestershire, WR13 5AY

The Wyche Inn, Malvern

The Wyche Inn is right next to the Wyche Cutting between Malvern and Upper Colwall. With the right weather conditions, you will be literally above the clouds at this pub and the views are stunning. If you are walking the Malvern Hills with your dog, this is a great place to stop to eat and drink. Dogs are welcome both indoors and out.

Address: 74 Wyche Road, Malvern, WR14 4EQ

Dog friendly pubs in Redditch

Finding dog friendly pubs in Redditch has been hard going! There are a few listed on Google but it looks like a lot of them do not in fact welcome dogs. However if you are in the area, the below pubs make it clear that they are dog friendly.

The Hart, Headless Cross, Redditch

Located at Headless Cross, the Hart is a traditional pub that welcomes children and encourages dogs. They do say that their courtyard is dog friendly, but I’m not sure if this means that dogs can’t go inside. However, the courtyard is heated so you won’t freeze if you do need to stay outdoors. The Hart serves artisan coffee, wines, spirits and cocktails. Food wise, they are proud of their chicken burgers and smashed patties as well as pub classics made on site.

Address: 157 Evesham Rd, Headless Cross, Redditch B97 5EJ

Dog friendly pubs in Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire

The Angel, Stourport-on-Severn

With a good selection of cask ales and gins, the Angel boasts a beer garden, accessible access and electric car charging points. Judging from their website, it doesn’t look like the Angel serves food. Dogs are welcome but it’s not clear whether they can go everywhere or whether they are restricted to certain areas.

Address: Severnside, Stourport-on-Severn, DY13 9EW

The Bay Horse, Stourport-on-Severn

Boasting good pub food and a homely atmosphere, the Bay Horse is a dog friendly pub serving food from midday each day. They have plenty of parking and have special offers on food and drinks on certain days.

Address: Stourport on Severn, Worcestershire, DY13 8YP

The Old Beams, Stourport-on-Severn

A community-owned pub over the river bridge from the town centre, the Old Beams is a beautiful old building dating back to the 15th century. Facilities include a beer garden that backs onto the common, a car park and a good selection of home-cooked pub food. Not only is the pub dog friendly inside and out, they even have a “dog station” with dog biscuits and water bowls.

Address: Dunley Road, Stourport-on-Severn, DY13 0AA

The Old Rose & Crown, Stourport-on-Severn

Located in Stourport town, the Old Rose & Crown serves food daily both indoors and in the beer garden. With a variety of real ales, ciders and Guinness, this pub will please anyone looking for pub grub and a good drink. Dog friendly pubs in Upton-Upon-Severn, Worcestershire

Upton Upon Severn is a lovely place to visit with dogs. There are a lot of flat walks alongside the river as long as it’s not flooded. I can only find the Swan Hotel that lists itself as dog friendly on its website. However, I’m sure a lot of the other pubs accept dogs too and as they are all in very close proximity to one another, it’s worth calling in to check if you’re in the area.

Dog friendly pubs near Worcestershire walks

One of the best things about Worcestershire is the number of lovely walks that end conveniently close to a welcoming pub. If you’re planning a day out with your dog, here are a few areas worth considering.

Malvern Hills: There are plenty of dog friendly pubs around the Malvern Hills, including the Nag’s Head, the Wyche Inn and the Brewer’s Arms. These are particularly good options if you want to combine a countryside walk with lunch or a drink.

Broadway: The village of Broadway is a lovely place to explore with dogs, and there are several welcoming pubs in the centre. You could combine a visit with a walk towards Broadway Tower.

Worcester: A walk beside the River Severn is a good option if you’re looking for something flatter. The Wheatsheaf is one of the dog friendly pubs worth considering.

Pershore and Upton-upon-Severn: Both towns have attractive riverside walking routes and dog friendly pubs where you can stop afterwards. Do check local conditions because riverside paths can flood.

For more inspiration, have a look at my guide to the best dog walks in the West Midlands, which includes walks across Worcestershire and the surrounding counties. I’ve also written about a selection of walks on the Malvern hills that I do regularly as this is my local dog walking and running route.
