Last minute summer childcare with Super Camps

Summer holidays are tough. It’s amazing to be able to enjoy time as a family. Playing outdoors, hitting the beach, theme parks, climbing trees or just watching a favourite movie. But that’s not real life, is it? So, what happens when you have to work? When you take on an unexpected contract or, quite frankly, when you can’t stand another moment of trying to keep the children entertained? About Super Camps Super Camps provide OFSTED registered holiday camps for children aged from 4 to 14 during school holidays. Camps are held at 83 locations around the UK, and they are…

Why and how I lost a stone in weight

There is a big movement on social media at the moment around body positivity. Accepting yourself as you are, being confident and embracing your curves. And it’s great to see. It’s the perfect counterbalance to awful trolls fat-shaming people who are just trying to get on with their lives. And I wholeheartedly agree that we should all be confident in our own skin. But the body positivity movement is not for me. Why lose weight? Weight loss, for me, isn’t about looking good. It’s not about feeling more confident and it certainly isn’t anything to do with what other people…

Celebrating summer days with Capri-Sun

This is a collaborative post.  Since Libby started school, I’ve been acutely aware of how quickly the Summer holidays fly by. And this year, Lia starts school too. So now, more than ever, I’ve been trying to make the most of the long Summer days. The girls go to sleep late anyway, so we might as well make the most of it and have some fun. Days in the sunshine Have you seen the social media posts going around lately about 18 summers? They point out that we only get to spend 18 summers with our children. And that’s if…

High back booster seat groups 1 to 3 from Tesco – review

This is a paid advertorial with Tesco.  Car seat shopping. It’s not exciting or glamorous. No child ever begged for a new high back booster seat. But it might be one of the most important purchases you’ll ever make. And when you find a seat that you trust, that the child finds comfortable, it’s a keeper. But time flies when you’re having fun, and they’re soon ready for the next size up. That’s where a universal car seat like the Little Tikes circuit car seat comes in. Choosing a high back booster seat Children tend to be ready to go…

Grab 40 per cent off A Snapfish Father’s Day for the Dad who has it all

Let’s face it, there’s one of ‘those’ people in every family. You know the one, and you probably have the same conversation with him every year. “What do you want for Christmas / birthday / Father’s Day?” “Oh, there’s nothing I need.” “I don’t care, you know I need to get you something from the kids and if I just choose something, you won’t like it.” “It’s fine, just get me anything.” “Happy Father’s day.” “I don’t like it.” In case you hadn’t guessed, that someone in our family is my dad. And my husband isn’t much better. So, thank…

Dog friendly family camping Pencarnan Farm Pembrokeshire

Pencarnan Farm near St Davids in Pembrokeshire, Wales is an idyllic, dog friendly caravan and camping site right next to the beach. We discovered it purely by chance and it’s one of the most incredible campsites we’ve ever been to. In fact, it was so good that I was almost reluctant to share it. Pencarnan Farm is a hidden gem that we’ll go back to again and again. About Pencarnan Farm campsite Pencarnan is a working farm on the most westerly edge of Pembrokeshire. It is located right next to Porthsele beach, so from our camper van, it was about…

Little Mermaid – the circus sensation at Malvern Theatres

Last night, we all headed to one of our favourite local places, Malvern Theatres. The new Metta Theatre production of the Little Mermaid is an incredible, awe-inspiring take on the Hans Christian Andersen Story. It’s only 70 minutes long with no interval and a tiny cast. We were all utterly spellbound throughout. The Little Mermaid – the story The original Hans Christian Andersen story has been adapted in various ways over the years. The Metta show has its own twist in the tale. It follows the Little Mermaid, her Seahorse friend and all her sisters. On the Little Mermaid’s 16th…
