What to do at Warwick Castle

This year we’re delighted to be ambassadors for the fabulous Warwick Castle. We headed there yesterday and realised we’d totally underestimated how much there was to do. It’s been a good few years since we went and there are many more attractions now. We didn’t arrive until nearly lunch time and the castle closes at 4pm in Winter so we didn’t manage to see everything we wanted to. If you’re a bit more organised and want to plan your visit, here’s a list of what to do at Warwick Castle including events. Head to their website for more information. Inside…

12 tips for visiting the Black Country Living Museum – West Midlands

When I was compiling my post about family friendly days out in the West Midlands, it inspired me to try some during half term. The Black Country Living Museum was somewhere I’d been with my husband pre-children but I hadn’t taken the girls. So we headed there for a day out, and it was brilliant. But as with anywhere, there are certain things you need to know to make the most of your visit. So here are my top tips. 1. Book online Well I’d love to say that this was what I did. But sadly, I’m not that organised. All…

Thursday photo #145

We toyed with the idea of going away this half term but in the end, we decided against it. There were a few uncertainties with my husband’s work commitments. Lia’s nursery and the girls’ dance classes were still on as their half term is next week and it all just got a bit complicated. So we stayed here, and do you know what? It was the right decision. Local adventures A few weeks ago, we took part in a staycation challenge. This made me realise that we rarely take the opportunity to be tourists in our local area. Last week I…

Cucina Rustica Birmingham Review

Today I headed into Birmingham for lunch at Cucina Rustica Italian restaurant. Cucina Rustica is based in the Jewellery Quarter, which is about a 10 minute walk from New Street train station and Grand Central shopping centre. They serve authentic Italian food in a relaxed, bar-like atmosphere. Their cocktails are pretty good too! Cucina Rustica Starters When we arrived, we were given a copy of the large Cucina Rustica menu and their smaller specials menu. We were also treated to a basket of bread and olives whilst we browsed the menus. I went for the Funghi con Panna starter, which…

National Sea Life Centre Birmingham Meet Santa

Last week, Libby went on a school trip to the National Sea Life Centre in Birmingham. She came back so happy at having had the chance to meet Santa that Lia was a bit jealous. Luckily we are blog ambassadors for the National Sea Life Centre and seeing Santa is included in the ticket price. Or in our case, it was free with annual pass entry. So on Thursday, Lia and I headed there for the day. The National Sea Life Centre We’ve been ambassadors for the National Sea Life centre for the past two years now. This given us the…
