Back to school with prezzybox: Competition

I was sent these fabulous back to school items by prezzybox for the purpose of an honest review and to allow me to host the competition. All views, opinions, images and soon-to-be schoolgirls are my own. Can you believe that this little cutie with the infectious giggle and her shoes on the wrong feet starts school next week? Neither can I. But that time is upon us and it’s time to start getting ready. When prezzybox got in touch about working with us on a back to school project, I was quite smug. Nope, there was nothing I needed thank you very…

The Great Little Party Company: Review

A few weeks ago, we were lucky enough to be sent a mini-party pack by the Great Little Party Company to review. The Great Little Party Company deliver traditional parties straight to your door – with tableware and entertainment all in one box. We were sent a mini fairy party box for two, and the girls couldn’t have been more delighted. In fact, they loved it so much that it has taken me rather longer than I’d hoped to review it. We have been playing with all the different elements ever since it arrived. They’ve taken them to friends and family…

Thursday Photo #120

This time last week, I was nervously looking forward to my trip to the Black Forest. I was excited of course, but it would be the first time I’d left my girls for more than a night since I had them. As it turned out, I didn’t have much to worry about. We were all sad when I left and the few nights I was to be away seemed like a lifetime. Libby in particular was upset, but she coped with it well and I went on my way. I had an amazing trip and going to the Black Forest was…

The Black Forest – Europe’s best kept secret

Holidays have changed for us since becoming parents. Gone are the days of jetting off to New Zealand, South Africa or Venezuela on a whim. Throwing a few clothes into a backpack and trekking through the jungle, leaping out of a plane or scuba diving with sharks. And whilst these things are out of reach for now, I still crave that elusive family holiday to a little-known destination. Where tourists are catered for and welcomed with open arms, but swimming pools aren’t crowded, breakfast doesn’t always consist of a fry up and the countryside is clean, beautiful and unaltered. When I…

My dad has always been fond of the phrase, “Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life.” As a child I didn’t understand it. Why tomorrow, was something big happening, what was going to change tomorrow? But now I understand that every day is a new beginning and if we want to change the course of our lives, we just have to get on and do it. And in this house, tomorrow is not only the first day of the rest of our lives, but it is also the start of a whole new chapter. And as…

The day we found Dory

This summer, the National Sea Life Centre Birmingham are holding a Disney•PIXAR Finding Dory event. Until 11th September, visitors can follow a trail around the sea life centre that is based on the famous movie. Different characters have clues for you in the tanks, and you jot down the letters they are holding into a book that is given to you on arrival. We headed to the National Sea Life Centre yesterday to check out the Finding Dory event. On arrival, we were given the book to note down the letters, plus our deep sea dive log-book for stamping on…

Chi Kitchen Birmingham – Review

On Saturday, I was lucky enough to be invited to review Chi Kitchen in Birmingham. This is a very upmarket Chinese restaurant situated on the third floor of Debenhams in the Bullring. They also have a Grab & Go counter on the ground floor of the same shop. I haven’t been to the Bullring much since I stopped working in Birmingham nearly four years ago, and had no idea that Chi Kitchen was there. However it is somewhere I am incredibly glad to have discovered and I would definitely go again. When we arrived, we were welcomed by the staff and…
