Today is the first day for weeks that we have no plans at all. After a holiday in Northumberland last week, we headed home for the weekend before setting off again. This time, we were London bound. The intensity of summer holidays On Saturday, I headed to Monmouthshire on my own for my SUP lesson whilst the girls went to Bristol with their dad. It’s the first time I’ve had a day without them all summer and much as I missed them, its was also a relief. Summer holidays are so intense. The girls are at an age where they’re…

Half term ended just the way it started – with lots of fun and chaos. It’s amazing how quickly a week can fly by when you’re enjoying yourself. None of us were ready for school to start again. Here’s a very brief video of what we’ve been up to. Now it’s over, we’re ready for the next school holidays. Roll on Easter! Exploring new places Isn’t it strange how you can overlook places that are on your doorstep? On Friday, we were meeting some friends. They suggested meeting at Witley Court, which is a local English Heritage site about…

The last week before half term always reminds me of why we need the school holidays. We’re all exhausted. Roll on half term, we’re ready for a rest. The blue tutu If you follow me on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or just in the street, you’ll have noticed Lia’s blue tutu. Over a fortnight ago, we went to a Fit to Dance workshop and Ashley Banjo very kindly said the children could take some of the props home. Lia had fallen in love with a yellow tutu that she’d worn during the workshop. But by the time she realised what was…

It seems like so much longer than a week ago that we were on holiday in the sunshine. Whilst I’m missing chilled out days strolling by the coast and sitting around a campfire, it’s actually a relief to get back into a routine. The holiday comedown Last week was just the break we all needed. We had a lovely week camping as a family, quickly followed by a mini-break at the fabulous Bank House hotel and spa for me. Our journey back from holiday was long and rather tiring. The only problem with using our trailer tent is that you…

Does anybody else have to look at Instagram to remember what they’ve done each week? I’m sure it can’t just be me. Anyway, after quickly refreshing my mind, here’s what we’ve been up to. Our week I had a pretty chilled morning on Friday while the girls were at school and nursery. After a quick walk with the dogs, I headed to our local Tesco baby event so I could blog about it. Then I treated myself to a coffee and a muffin until it was time to pick Lia up. The weekend was relatively chilled with Libby going to a…

It’s been an uncharacteristically chilled out week in the Plutonium Sox household. We even managed to avoid doing anything too dramatic at the weekend. I feel like it was just what we all needed and we’re finally starting to recover from the coughs and sniffles that have been plaguing us. It’s good to have a break sometimes. What the girls have been up to As my husband was working at the weekend, the girls and I decided to head over to a local village where there was a craft fair on. It just so happened that the village also has…

Over the past few days, we’ve been getting back into a more normal routine after a lovely holiday at Bluestone last week. I know people say that children need routine in their lives, but we’ve never really been that sort of family. The children go to bed at loosely the same time every night, with exceptions where something fun is going on in the evening. Lia usually has an afternoon nap too, but this sometimes slips if she gets a better offer. We quite often do the same things on the same days, and Libby goes to nursery every afternoon, but…
