Ten Free Summer Holiday Activities

I may be a little late to the party here, after all my children are only young. So here is my latest observation on the summer holidays – they’re really, really expensive! Without our usual activities going on, we’ve been out and about every day, having an amazing time. Unfortunately, my bank balance is not happy. So I’ve been brainstorming things to do that are completely free. Actually, it was quite easy to come up with ten free summer holiday activities. I’ve included activities for both fine weather and foul. It is the Great British summer after all. 1. Build…

A day out in Birmingham

This morning, we all headed off early for a day out in Birmingham. Working there made me realise what a great city it is. There’s always something going on and children are particularly spoilt. Our first stop after getting off the train today was the Town Hall to see the AMAZING Three Little Pigs musical. This was a bit of a shock to me. I knew the girls would enjoy it, but I had no idea that it would be enjoyable for the grown ups too. The music is catchy, actors are engaging and it’s only 55 minutes long so it…

Giant Lego trail at Slimbridge

Today, we spent a lovely morning on the trail of the amazing giant Lego figures at WWT Slimbridge. We were lucky enough to be joined for the day by an fabulous local photographer. The weather was not kind to us, but nonetheless we had a lovely day, as we always do at Slimbridge. I think I have mentioned before that Lia is rather a big fan of ducks. This  makes Slimbridge her ideal day out. For Libby, anywhere outdoors, especially where there is a park, is great fun. Slimbridge is relatively local to us and it’s one of those places that we…

Little moments

Last weekend, we were invited to Drayton Manor to hear all about what’s going on there for the rest of the season. They’ve got some amazing events coming up, we’re particularly looking forward to the fireworks (set to War of the Worlds – fabulous) and seeing Father Christmas. We’ll be heading there for Halloween too, although the girls are probably a bit young to understand it. The thing that really struck a chord with me though was their #LittleMoments campaign. They’re encouraging people to stop and appreciate their little moments. For me, this is a really pertinent message. Not just…

Win a family pass to a deep sea world

A little while ago, we were lucky enough to be chosen as ambassadors for the National Sea Life Centre in Birmingham. We had a fabulous guided tour just a few weeks ago when Lia fell in love with the penguins in her own inimitable manner. They also had the fabulous Lego attraction there, which was great for little ones. They had the opportunity to follow a lego treasure hunt, with giant lego pieces hidden in some of the tanks. They can even build a lego sea creature. At the end, they receive an activity pack with stickers and a fun scuba mask.…
