Finding summer clothing from home

I’ve never been one to update my wardrobe every season. I don’t follow fashion and hate waste, so throwing away clothing to start again doesn’t sit comfortably at all. But I don’t mind admitting that sometimes, this attitude puts me at a disadvantage. When my clothes are no longer wearable, they get cut up to become rags. If I’ve just stopped wearing them or they no longer fit, they go to a charity shop. Then, I replace things when I need them. Usually by shopping in a charity shop or buying one or two items I love and making them…

Kimi Dog Wholesale children’s clothing [AD]

Choosing children’s clothing is a minefield. Balancing what they love with the things that are fashionable. There’s the additional complication of choosing something age appropriate. I always avoid clothes designed to make little children look like teenagers. The girls received some children’s clothes from wholesale children’s clothing company-Kimi Dog. Where does makeup fit into body confidence and feminism?

These days, social media is awash with posts about body confidence. Feeling comfortable in your own skin, rejecting the need to be ‘beach body ready’. Because let’s face it, we’re all beach body ready. There’s a beach, I have a body. I’m ready. Another movement I’m loving is feminism. Women refusing to conform to the societal norms that make life more difficult for us. Hair removal is a great example and it’s wonderful to see women choosing whether to remove bodily hair, rather than feeling that they have to. However there’s one thing that doesn’t sit comfortably with me in…

A wardrobe revamp with JD Williams

Shopping is a bit like marmite. You either love it or you hate it. Personally, I’d choose a pot of marmite over a shopping trip any day. However, I recently reached the point where the vast majority of my clothes needed binning. Actually if I’m honest, that point was about two years ago. So, when JD Williams got in touch and asked me to feature a few of their items on the blog, I jumped at the chance. About JD Williams JD Williams is an online clothing store that really does have something for everyone. I’ve earmarked their children’s offering…

Choosing a flower girl dress

Last year, we were all delighted when my sister’s long-term boyfriend proposed. And nobody was more delighted than Libby and Lia. They immediately assumed that they would be flower girls and luckily, my sister didn’t let them down. Choosing the dresses I remember the trauma of choosing bridesmaid dresses for my own wedding. I was no bridezilla but I did expect a bit of hassle choosing my own dress. I’m not usually one for dresses, especially anything that makes me stand out. This isn’t helped by the fact that I was a competitive swimmer for many years and I never…
