Best Christmas days out in Herefordshire 2024
There are some lovely days out in Herefordshire and the surrounding areas for Christmas 2024. This is a comprehensive list of places to see Santa in Herefordshire, as well as other festive events. You can jump straight to each event using the links in the table below. Please do let me know if I’ve missed any brilliant events off the list, I’d be happy to add them in. Advance booking is essential at all attractions unless otherwise stated.

Berrington Hall (National Trust) – Christmas With The Georgians
Celebrate Christmas with the Georgians this year at Berrington Hall. Atmospheric lighting, traditional decorations, dried flowers in the fireplaces and stunning Christmas trees create a festive feel. Look out for the “below stairs” Christmas experience too. There is no additional cost for this event and advance booking is not required.

Georgian Christmas Trail
Children will receive a list of Georgian traditions and treats to find as they follow a trail around the property to earn a prize. Trails cost £3 per child.

Christmas at Brockhampton Estate, Herefordshire (National Trust)
Learn about how families would have celebrated Christmas at Brockhampton. Explore Mrs Dennett’s kitchen from Edwardian times, a lounge from the 1950s and a Medieval Christmas in the Great Hall. The Manor House will be decorated with beautiful Christmas trees and greenery. Enjoy a winter walk through the estate grounds before heading to the Granary Kiosk to warm up with a hot drink.

Winter Trail
There’s not much information about the Winter trail, but children will be able to follow a trail around the property and there is a prize at the end. THe trail costs £3 per child.

Courtyard Hereford – Sleeping Beauty Pantomime 2024 – 2025
This year’s pantomime at Courtyard Hereford is Sleeping Beauty. This fairy tale is brought to life with magic, mayhem and music. Look out for a live band, amazing sets and some wicked spells. Will true love save the day? Tickets are on sale already and audio described, BSL and relaxed performances are available. There are also several adult only nights.
Dates: 27th November 2024 to 4th January 2025. Audio described performance: 14th December. BSL performance: 15th December. Relaxed Performance: 20th December. Adult-only nights (over 18): 7th, 13th, 20th and 27th December 2024 and 3rd January 2025.

Courtyard Hereford – The Elves and the Shoemaker
Aimed at children aged under 7 years old, the Courtyard Christmas show this year is the Elves and the Shoemaker. At just an hour long, this is an ideal show for a child’s first visit to the theatre. Enter the magical world of the Elves and the Shoemaker with your little one for an interactive experience. Elves will tell a magical tale of how they tried to restore the shoemaker’s fortune. It’s time to witness a Christmas miracle. The show is full of original songs, puppetry and laughter. Ideal for a festive evening out.

Croft Castle (National Trust) Herefordshire – 1920s Christmas Mystery
Experience a 1920s Christmas at Croft Castle this year. You are invited to their Christmas party. The castle will be covered in 1920s festive decorations. Think cosy décor, twinkly trees and traditional carol singers on certain days. Solve a seasonal mystery whilst you explore – search for a missing family heirloom and work out who took it! Normal admission prices apply and advance booking is not required. To help solve the mystery, children will need a trail pack which costs £3. This includes a colouring sheet, pencils and a prize.

Storytelling With Father Christmas
Father Christmas will be reading festive tales for children in the Castle dining room. These are group sessions lasting around half an hour and he has a small gift for each child at the ened. The cost is £5 per child and up to 2 adults can accompany each child or group of children for free. Booking is essential for this event.

Green Dragon Hotel Hereford – Enchanted Christmas 2024
Enjoy an immersive family grotto experience thanks to the Enchanted Group at the Green Dragon Hotel this Christmas. Tickets include:
- A live Christmas show with music, singing, dancing and festive characters

Ralph Court Gardens Herefordshire
Ralph Court Gardens will become a Winter Wonderland for Christmas 2024. Enjoy a musical fountain dancing to festive music, Christmas inflatables, and Victorian carol singers. Listen to a Christmas tale read by Boris the bear and hear their donkey-supported singing reindeer. Ralph Court Gardens guarantee snow flurries every day, so be sure to wrap up warm!
Dates: Daytimes from mid-November 2024 to 5th January 2025. Evenings of 29th and 30th November and 6th, 7th, 8th, 13th, 14th, 15th and 20th to 23rd December 2024.
