If you’re looking for things to do in Herefordshire this Christmas, there are plenty of festive days out and events to choose from. I’ve rounded up the best Christmas days out in Herefordshire for 2026, including places to see Father Christmas, festive trails, pantomimes, Christmas shows and other seasonal family activities.
You can jump straight to each event using the links in the contents below. I’ll keep this guide updated as more Herefordshire Christmas events are announced, so do check back for the latest information. Advance booking is recommended for many of the events, particularly popular Santa experiences.

Berrington Hall (National Trust)

Celebrate Christmas with the Georgians this year at Berrington Hall. Atmospheric lighting, traditional decorations, dried flowers in the fireplaces and stunning Christmas trees create a festive feel. Look out for the “below stairs” Christmas experience too. There is no additional cost for this event and advance booking is not required.
Georgian Christmas Stocking Trail
Collect a stocking from the welcome desk and look around the house and gardens for items to create your own festive decoration to take home. Decorations are inspired by homemade traditions that were popular in Georgian times.

Brockhampton Estate

Celebrate 600 years of Christmas at Brockhampton by travelling back in time to find out how families would have spent Christmas Eve during the property’s history, from medieval times right up to the 1950s.
Displays range from a medieval feast to a Georgian party, Victorian trees and Edwardian food. Plus a family fireside Christmas from the 1950s.
There will also be children’s activities, cooking demos and musical performances, all of which will be announced soon.

Courtyard Hereford – Cinderella Pantomime 2026
Get ready for a magical festive outing as Cinderella takes to the stage in a dazzling professional pantomime packed with laughter, mischief and heartwarming moments. Follow Cinders on her journey from hardship to happily ever after, as she outwits her outrageous Ugly Sisters and receives a little help from a spellbinding Fairy Godmother. With spectacular transformations, show-stopping musical numbers, stunning costumes and plenty of classic panto chaos, this family-friendly production promises lots of audience participation and festive cheer. A much-loved Christmas tradition, it’s a joyful, feel-good show that’s perfect for all ages.

Courtyard Hereford – The Snow Queen
Step into a magical festive adventure at The Courtyard with a charming retelling of The Snow Queen, perfect for younger children not quite ready for pantomime. Follow best friends Gerda and Kay as their bond is tested when the Snow Queen whisks Kay away, prompting Gerda to embark on a brave and heartwarming quest to rescue him. Along the way, she encounters a host of magical characters and discovers her own strength—with plenty of opportunities for little ones to join in the fun. Featuring original songs, interactive moments and a celebration of friendship and individuality, this relaxed and inclusive production creates a welcoming space where every child can enjoy the magic in their own way.

Croft Castle (National Trust) Herefordshire

This Christmas, families can enjoy a festive trail at Croft Castle where children become little helpers, following clues inspired by traditional carols as they explore beautifully decorated rooms. With a special activity booklet, they’ll discover Victorian Christmas traditions and join in with festive preparations, from making paper chains and cards to crafting silhouette ornaments. The trail costs £3 per child, including a prize, plus normal admission.

Green Dragon Hotel Hereford – Enchanted Christmas 2026
All aboard for a magical Christmas experience at The Green Dragon Hotel in Hereford! The Enchanted Group is bringing back its popular Christmas Grotto for a third year with a brand-new festive adventure: The Polar Express Christmas Grotto & Immersive Live Show. Families can enjoy a live musical retelling of the beloved story featuring the Conductor, the Boy, and dazzling dancing chefs. After the show, children can meet Santa in his grotto, choose their own gift, receive a magical Polar Express bell, make reindeer food, and grab an activity pack. Tickets are available now. Please note, this is a grotto experience and not an actual train journey.

Ralph Court Gardens Herefordshire
Get ready for a Christmas experience filled with laughter, music, and festive charm as Ralph Court Gardens becomes a Winter Wonderland. Snow flurries are guaranteed every day, so be sure to wrap up warm! Both daytime and after dark experiences are available, with the evening event bringing to life the magic of festive lights around the garden, and the opportunity to meet father Christmas as well as the daytime characters. The all-new Acapella Penguins are waddling in to steal the show with their heartwarming harmonies, playful personalities, and animated performance. Singing your favourite Christmas classics, these lovable performers are guaranteed to delight all ages, creating magical moments, festive smiles, and memories the whole family will treasure. Don’t miss the coolest Christmas stars of the season!

Townsend Farm Christmas Event
Christmas at Townsend Farm in Pembridge transforms the farm into an illuminated winter wonderland. Visitors can follow the Magical Christmas Light Trail through festive displays, the Magical Forest, Grinch’s Lair and Santa’s Toy Factory and Sleigh Runway, with live characters and plenty of Christmas photo opportunities along the way. Families wanting the full experience can also meet Father Christmas in his grotto, visit the North Pole Wishlist Room and take part in the Elf Workshop, including making reindeer food to take home. Festive food and drinks and marshmallow firepits are available too. Townsend Farm says there are more surprises still to be revealed for Christmas 2026.

Dog Friendly Christmas Events in Herefordshire
There aren’t huge numbers of Christmas events in Herefordshire that specifically welcome dogs, but there are still a few festive options if you don’t want to leave your four-legged family member at home.
Townsend Farm has confirmed its Christmas event will return for 2026, with a light trail, Father Christmas experience and festive food and drink. Dogs were welcomed free of charge in 2025, although I recommend checking the 2026 rules before booking once the final details are confirmed.
All of Herefordshire’s National Trust properties listed above (Berrington Hall, Brockhampton and Croft Castle) are also dog friendly in their outdoor areas, although dogs may not be able to accompany you inside the buildings or take part in the Christmas activities themselves. I’ve visited all three National Trust properties with dogs and they all come highly recommended for a nice festive dog walk.
