Life is short, live harder

Every now and then, life throws you a curve ball. A timely reminder that life is short, life is precious and we need to make the most of every single moment. Since having children, I’ve been finding it really difficult to get any time for me. Time to do the things I enjoy; keep fit, go travelling and even go out with friends. KidzInMind App for Android and iOS: Review

I have never been keen on my children having too much screen time, whether that be the television, my phone or the computer. But as her school starting date approaches, I have been more keen to teach her to use a tablet. I often think back to my own school days, when IT lessons were nothing short of traumatic. Thursday Photo #102

During the past week, I have really started to feel like I’ve turned a corner. I wrote about the negative impact of tiredness, and how I didn’t even realise how much it had affected me until I started to feel a bit better. This year, we are determined to go away on holiday against all the odds. In fact, we’re hoping to squeeze in a couple of trips before September, after all this is the last time we’ll be able to go away outside of school holidays. Our first trip will be to Scotland at the end of May. We would usually camp in our folding camper (glorified trailer tent), but this year it’s just not practical with my husband still being unable to walk. I really didn’t fancy having to do everything with the tent as well as looking after everyone. It…

The negative impact of tiredness

Since having children, I have been pretty much permanently tired. I know I’m not the only one, I’m not sure I’ve ever met a refreshed, energised parent of young children. There have been a few times since Libby came along when I have reached a point of feeling close to exhaustion. I was in hospital for several days before having both girls, as I was induced both times. The lack of sleep during induction meant that the snatched few hours here and there when I’d had the baby and come home felt like absolute bliss. Then came the difficult times…
