Cucina Rustica Birmingham Review
Today I headed into Birmingham for lunch at Cucina Rustica Italian restaurant. Cucina Rustica is based in the Jewellery Quarter, which is about a 10 minute walk from New Street train station and Grand Central shopping centre. They serve authentic Italian food in a relaxed, bar-like atmosphere. Their cocktails are pretty good too! Starters When…
Getting clothes clean against all the odds
Boys get dirtier than girls and women do the washing. Maybe in a bygone era this was the case. But in our house, these two statements are both utter rubbish. Ballet outfit shocker Libby isn’t a particularly girly girl. At five years old, she still wears almost as much of her food as she eats….
Chocolate Chip Flapjacks: Quick and Easy Recipe
This chocolate chip flapjack recipe is a delicious, indulgent treat. Whilst it contains plenty of nuts and seeds, it is far from a healthy recipe with the focus being on the chocolate. It makes an ideal after school snack for children and goes nicely with a cup of tea or coffee. Better still, chocolate chip…
Family holiday ideas for the winter
There’s nothing quite like a holiday to make the winter go quicker. Before having children, I’d often go away for a month or more in November. By the time I came back, it was nearly Christmas. The weather was properly cold, but the new year was in sight, so it felt like spring was already…

What determines whether large organisations have a corporate conscience?
Waking in a panic in the early hours of the morning has become normal. The overdraft limit is looming yet again, as it does for freelancers everywhere. But this time, it’s different. It’s not about lack of work, because I’ve got plenty. A small company or an individual unable to pay hasn’t caused the problem….

Hi there- sorry for your loss, take care
Thank you Sharon.x
So sorry to hear that 🙁 When our old dog Molly died we used to still hear her thumping up and down the stairs at my folks house for months afterwards. It felt like she was hanging on for us to not feel so sad. I know that sounds mental, but there’s something special about old dogs I think. Hope you’re ok xxx
Aw bless thanks Maz. Strange that you still heard Molly after she’d gone. Snoop was a great dog and we will all miss him, especially my mum as she has had him for the last few years.xx
