The lessons children will never learn from homework
I’ve never really known how I felt about young children having homework. It’s a subject I’ve read a lot about and in principle, I’m not against it. Libby has been bringing a reading book home each day since starting school. We read those in the mornings before school because she can’t concentrate by the evening…
Things to consider before renting out the family home [AD]
Selling the family home is always a huge decision. Often it’s the right thing to do because you need more space as the family grows. Or less space when children fly the nest. Sometimes though, it’s not the only option. One example is if you are leaving the area. For us, travelling for a few…
Age like a dog
An elderly dog padded steadily across a green field. He drank in the spring air and paused to investigate an interesting smell. Life was no longer a rush. Age was not an affliction, rather an opportunity to embrace the finer things. A warm bed, a slow walk and the excitement of being reunited with loved…
Dog Friendly | Holidays | Pets15 tips for holidaying with your dog
If we go on holiday in the UK, we want to bring the dogs with us. As soon as we get a camper van, they’ll be going abroad with us too. Not just because of the inconvenience of finding someone we trust to look after them, but because they’re part of the family. There is…

Hi there- sorry for your loss, take care
Thank you Sharon.x
So sorry to hear that 🙁 When our old dog Molly died we used to still hear her thumping up and down the stairs at my folks house for months afterwards. It felt like she was hanging on for us to not feel so sad. I know that sounds mental, but there’s something special about old dogs I think. Hope you’re ok xxx
Aw bless thanks Maz. Strange that you still heard Molly after she’d gone. Snoop was a great dog and we will all miss him, especially my mum as she has had him for the last few years.xx
