Cotton Traders New Collection: Full of Surprises
AD: My Cotton Traders clothes were gifted for the purpose of a review.
With the British weather seemingly providing us with the first proper summer we’ve had for a while, we’re all scrabbling to get a summer wardrobe together. For many of us, that might mean shorts and t-shirts. Or maybe you’re like me and it’s all about the cropped jeans, floaty dresses or long-sleeved t-shirts to keep the sun off. Whatever your summer wardrobe style, the new Cotton Traders collection has got you covered.
Long Sleeved Tops
I have to admit, I’m not brilliant at remembering to put on sun cream. When I do, I usually slap some on my face and get on with my day. So, it makes sense that in the summer, light, long-sleeved tops make it into my wardrobe. Offering sun protection without adding to the heat of the day.
When this long sleeved polo shirt arrived, my youngest daughter was devastated that it wasn’t for her. The colour is gorgeous and looks particularly good with a bit of a tan. Whilst it feels like the type of fabric you’d expect for a polo shirt, it feels lighter. This is due to the pure cotton piqué that it’s made from for comfort and breathability. Detailing includes colour contrasting and a colour-matched logo. Side splits allow easy movement. The other great feature is an anti-curl collar – so it looks perfect every wear, even after plenty of washes.
Another thing I love about this polo shirt is that it’s going to be ideal for layering in the autumn and winter. Plus, I’ve already washed it and it has kept its length. This is something I’ve always struggled with because so many tops shrink in the wash.

Half Zip Sweatshirt
Whilst the weather’s looking great at the moment, it’s not so hot that you don’t need a sweatshirt to throw on in the evenings. So, to go with the casual vibe of the polo, I’ve picked this striped, half-zip sweatshirt.
These are unisex, so I had to pick a colour that my husband wouldn’t wear and buy a small size. The fabric is cotton rich and the half-zip style is my favourite look in a sweatshirt.
Being relatively light, the sweatshirt is ideal for summer evenings. Easy to throw on over any outfit and not too warm. Definitely my go-to outer layer for the warmer months.

Casual Jeans
I love the look of jeans but they’re not always the most comfortable thing to wear. I do find that the buttons can dig in and by the end of the day, I’m keen to take them off. Fortunately, Cotton Traders have solved that problem with these premium pull-on rib waist crop denim jeans. The denim is a really nice light blue and the waistband is an absolute dream. Not only do they pull on, but they feel like tracksuit bottoms to wear.

Key features include the pull-on elasticated waistband, mid-calf cop and straight leg style. There’s a mock fly as well that’s stitched on, so they still have the look of normal jeans but without the irritating button and zip.
I’m living in these at the moment. Ideal for summer weather and comfortable enough to wear all day while working at my desk. They’re great for evenings out at the pub too.
