My first thought when I heard of copper-infused clothing was that it sounded heavy! In my mind, this was winter clothing that perhaps had similar benefits to a weighted blanket. I couldn’t have been more wrong. In fact, it has the following wellness benefits:

While you sleep, your body sheds millions of skin cells and releases moisture through perspiration, creating an ideal environment for bacteria and other microorganisms to thrive. Although most microbes are harmless, disease-causing pathogens can also accumulate on your body and in your bedding. Bedsheets, pillowcases, mattresses, duvets and blankets can harbour bacteria, fungi and viruses transferred from your skin, pets or the surrounding environment. That’s where copper infused pyjamas come in.

How Anti-Microbial Copper Fabric Technology Works

Undoubtedly, you’ve read about the pathogens living in your bed and decided you need to do something about the situation immediately. Me too. Thankfully, copper pyjamas have got you covered. So, how does it work?

1. Copper ions are scientifically proven to rupture and penetrate the cell wall of the pathogens
2. The copper ions kill the pathogen immediately upon contact and cause potentially harmful microbes to be destroyed.
3. Once inside, copper ions attack the DNA of the microbe, totally inactivating the microorganism.

Review of Copper Pyjamas

Whilst I was already convinced of the benefits of antimicrobial sleepwear, it was important to put it to the test. Along with the copper infused into the fabric, these luxurious pyjamas are made from cotton and bamboo. Not only are they extremely soft, but they’re also light as a feather.

On the really hot nights, I’ve found it easier to sleep with the pyjamas on. I’d usually go for short sleeved and short-legged ones in this weather, but these are so light that I was able to sleep without a cover over me at all, just wearing the pyjamas. They felt like such a treat. In fact, when it came to getting dressed to take the dogs for a walk, these were so comfortable that the temptation to just wear them on my dog walk is almost overwhelming. I’ve managed to resist so far, but I can’t make any promises.

I initially ordered a size medium, which is listed as size 12-14 on the website. However, this wasn’t available so I ended up with a large – and I was quite glad I did. Whilst they’re quite loose, this is exactly the way I’d want sleepwear, so I would probably recommend going up a size on what you’d usually buy.
