We were lucky enough to be selected as ambassadors for Drayton Manor Theme Park during their 2015 season. If you are a fan of Drayton Manor or would love to give it a try, keep reading for your chance to win a family pass for a day at Drayton Manor this season. Today, we were invited to the first day of the Thomas & Friends Weekends at Thomas Land within Drayton Manor. These are happening this…

National Sea Life Centre Birmingham: Review

Today, we were lucky enough to be invited to the National Sea Life Centre to check out their Ancient Oceans event. We are all huge fans of the National Sea Life Centre and visit regularly. However, the Ancient Oceans event was particularly exciting for my dinosaur loving girls. National Sea Life Centre Birmingham: Review The National Sea Life Centre is home to native and tropical fish, sharks, otters, rays, an octopus, a turtle, jellyfish, starfish… the list goes on. But arguably, the star attraction is these gorgeous little chaps, the Gentoo penguins.    On entering the National Sea Life Centre,…

Will the countryside die with our generation?

Not so many years ago, playing outdoors was the staple pastime of children of any age. I remember spending day after day playing in the fields, building dens, climbing trees, looking for frogs in the pond and playing with friends at the park. As I got older, outdoor activities would include walking in the hills, cycling, climbing, running and playing cricket on the local sports field, using our jumpers as the wickets. Back then, if the weather was terrible we might watch television or read a book. But the days indoors were long, there wasn’t much to entertain you. I am…

Hogwarts in the snow with toddlers: Review

Last week, we were lucky enough to go to the Warner Brothers Studio Tour, London to see Hogwarts in the Snow. I have always loved the Harry Potter books and was really impressed with the film adaptation of it so the studio tour appealed to me. However, my girls are very young. They have both watched little bits of the Harry Potter films and quite enjoyed them, but they’re not old enough to be really into them. I did wonder how much they would enjoy the studio tour. There was another problem too – my husband is still unable to…

Wyevale breakfast with Santa

This morning, we were lucky enough to be invited to attend Wyevale Garden Centres breakfast with Santa. We chose to go to Hereford Wellington Garden Centre because it is both nearby and in a lovely location. When we arrived, we were shown to our table where the children had a plethora of things to keep them entertained until breakfast time. Christmas crackers, colouring pencils, an activity sheet and chocolate coins. The look on Libby’s face when she was allowed to pull her Christmas cracker was priceless. She was also pretty pleased with the gift in her cracker. Who doesn’t want to be…

It’s Christmas At Webb’s Garden Centre

Last year a visit to Webbs Garden Centre was the thing that got us all into the festive spirit. Since our last visit, Libby has been asking me at least once a week when we’d be going again. It’s been a long 52 weeks but finally, the Webb’s Garden Centre Ice Rink and Christmas Grotto are back. So it may be a bit early but for me, Christmas starts here! My husband’s review of Christmas at Webb’s Garden Centre With hubby off work, we headed over there en masse today. My sister Soph came to give me a hand with the girls and…
