West Midlands Safari Park: Review

A few weeks ago, we decided to take the girls to the West Midlands Safari Park for the day. It’s something we’ve been meaning to do for a while now, since both girls often talk about the different animals they see in books. I’m not a huge fan of zoos as I don’t feel comfortable with the animals being in such small spaces, so I chose the safari park instead. The animals I’ve been to the West Midlands Safari Park a few times, and I’ve always been quite impressed with the fact that the animals had plenty of space. I’m not sure…

Love2Read: a Father’s day gift idea

With Father’s Day just around the corner, I know that there will be people all over the country who find themselves in the same position as me. Friday Feature #13: Eighteen Rabbit Fair Trade

Ethical purchasing is an issue really close to my heart because I hate the idea of my purchasing decisions having a detrimental effect, whether that be on the people that made the item or on the surrounding environment. Zoocchini hooded towels: review

Both of my children have been swimming since they were tiny, building water confidence is really important to us, so we try to swim every week. This has been really successful and it’s one of the activities we all enjoy doing as a family. The only rubbish thing about swimming is getting changed afterwards. When the girls were tiny, it was easy to just wrap them straight up in a hooded baby towel and get them warm. As they’ve got older though, it is one of the few things that has got more difficult. The girls just don’t seem to be…

KidzInMind App for Android and iOS: Review

I have never been keen on my children having too much screen time, whether that be the television, my phone or the computer. But as her school starting date approaches, I have been more keen to teach her to use a tablet. I often think back to my own school days, when IT lessons were nothing short of traumatic. I remember sitting in lessons where everyone else knew what they were doing, and I had no idea how to turn the thing on. I really didn’t want this for Libby. So, a few months ago we bought an iPad. It has…
