An Easter soft play treat

It’s rather odd I think, as a parent to two pre-school age children, that I always wonder what we’re going to do with ourselves during the Easter holidays.  During term time, it’s so easy to know what to do with the girls. There is an activity going on every day, then various other things come up for a break from our usual routine.  In the Easter holidays though, all their little activities stop. I have to keep them busy in the mornings so that they sleep in the afternoon, otherwise my work time goes out of the window.  Our default…

Learning about the world

It may be a surprise to people who have only known me since having children to learn that pre-kids, both hubby and I did quite a bit of travelling. I’ve done several stints of travelling, some with hubby or with friends and some on my own. An unusual gift for book lovers

Libby can very categorically be described as a book lover. We read a book with her every bedtime, but she always insists on an additional opportunity to read during the day and, my pet hate, she loves to take a book in the car. Given half a chance, she would also take a book with her when we go on the train, to ballet, to drama group, to the animal park… you get the general idea. But it drives me mad how they get all dog-eared. They end up on the floor of the car and get trodden on. This…
