Celebrating her favourite Christmas tradition of receiving presents

Win an Aquabeads bundle in time for Christmas [AD]

When lockdown number one kicked in, finding things to keep the children occupied was tough. Anyone who usually keeps their kids busy out of the house was suddenly scratching their head wondering what to do. What could possibly keep their attention without too much adult input? For us the answer came in the form of Aquabeads. There’s nothing more rewarding for little ones than creating something completely by themselves. They spent hours on it, making some brilliant creations. So when lockdown the sequel arrived, we were ready for it. This time, we’ve been making Christmas decorations. Have a look at what we made for some inspiration and enter the giveaway to win a bundle so you can give it a try.

Aquabeads creations inspired by Christmas traditions

Aquabeads challenged us to come up with something festive based on our Christmas traditions. We took lots of inspiration from their lovely advent calendar then set to work using that and the Star Beads Studio set. The great thing about the advent calendar is that it contains aquabeads, templates and loops and frames to hang or stand your decorations.

We had a chat about Christmas traditions that we love. Lia decided that decorating the tree was her favourite while Libby went for the presents. They were both going to design a decoration to hang on the tree but Libby got a bit carried away. So, her masterpiece is on display on a stand-up frame from the advent calendar instead. Our other tradition is Winter walks, so the decorations came along for one of those too.

I was amazed at how well they both drew out their designs. Lia in particular can be a bit prone to being lazy when it comes to drawing, claiming that she can’t do it. This time though, she knew that she would be able to create something lovely so she was willing to put the work in. Both girls were really proud of their creations and have since used the templates to make some more. We have a reindeer and a snowman so far, I wonder what will be next? Head over to my Instagram to see a video of the girls making their decorations.
