As the Easter holidays came screeching to a halt, we all tumbled back into our usual routine for a rest. I’m not really a people person. This week though, the support from friends, family and people I’ve never met was incredible. Before, during and after the London Marathon, those people made the experience one I’ll always remember. A weekend in London It came as a bit of a shock last October when I got a ballot place for the London Marathon. A winter of running followed, cumulating in a 17 mile run a few weeks ago. It is notable that since the last school holidays, the girls have become more independent. When things start to fall into place Over the past few months, Libby has started to show more of an interest in helping in the kitchen. She’s gradually taken over making breakfast for her and Lia. This varies in quality. Sometimes it’s jam or chocolate spread on toast. Other days…

“Mum, I’ve decided to become a vegetarian.” Those few words fill parents with dread. Can you stop them? Will they change their mind? Won’t they get ill? And what on earth will you feed them? My six year old decided to become vegetarian a few weeks ago. It didn’t come as a surprise and having become vegetarian at a similar age myself, I was lucky. Not only could I turn to my own mum for advice on how to cope, I have remained vegetarian ever since. In fact these days, my diet is predominantly vegan because I didn’t fully transition…
