Beginner’s guide to ballet: Dancewear Central

Just over two years ago, I took a very nervous little girl to a ballet class for the first time. As a toddler, Libby was very shy. She didn’t really associate with other children and whilst she was a chatterbox at home, she barely said a word when there were other people around. We started going together to little swans ballet class at Ballet Malvern. The class is aimed at pre-school aged children and parents join so that each child has the one to one attention of their parent to help them to follow the teacher’s instructions. Libby loved the…

Our Thursday Photo #89

Well, this week hasn’t been our finest hour. My husband still has a long road to recovery ahead of him and I’m quite frankly exhausted. But I want to be happy in my own skin, satisfied with my own life and content that I am having a positive impression on the world and not impacting negatively upon it. I don’t want canned happiness that comes from someone teaching me what I…

You’re a mother. You’ve got the most important job in the world and you’re doing it all wrong. You’re pregnant and you had a glass of wine. You couldn’t quite put the smoking habit behind you and you took a few puffs. You couldn’t resist the soft cheese or the runny egg. You put your baby at risk. Don’t you know the responsibility on your shoulders? There is a small person relying on you. So many people wish they could be in your situation, you don’t deserve to be a mum. You didn’t go to antenatal classes, you weren’t prepared…
