Thursday Photo #119

My dad has always been fond of the phrase, “Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life.” As a child I didn’t understand it. Why tomorrow, was something big happening, what was going to change tomorrow? But now I understand that every day is a new beginning and if we want to change the course of our lives, we just have to get on and do it. And in this house, tomorrow is not only the first day of the rest of our lives, but it is also the start of a whole new chapter. And as…

This week, I took a little bit of time away from my normal work to get my new palm oil free website up and running. At the moment, it’s just a very basic list of companies that don’t use palm oil in their products. I hope that it will soon expand to become quite a comprehensive directory that makes it easier to avoid palm oil when we shop. Strangely, the summer holidays have almost as much impact on pre-school age children as on those who are at school. My girls have their little routine that involves going to clubs each morning and none of the clubs happen in the holidays. It’s as much for my sanity as theirs, there’s nothing worse than bored children. As a result, this week has been full of fun mornings out.…

Time and again on a Thursday, I find myself sitting down to write about my week, and I’ve got no idea what’s happened.  I remember that on Saturday, we went to the Sea Life Centre which we all enjoyed. On Sunday, we went swimming and afterwards, Lia took her first couple of unaided steps between a chair and table at the pool.  Since then, it’s all been a bit of a blur of work, taking the children to their daily activities and a bit more work. Lia decided that a couple of steps here and there was quite enough for her…

This week, hubby has taken the week off and I’ve managed to spend every day and evening on work. This has given me the time to get really into setting up my palm oil free website.  Whilst I’ve been working really hard, I’ve also enjoyed it and I can see how much progress I’ve made.  The girls have enjoyed having the week with their dad. Libby in particular has delighted in taking him to ballet and playgroup, it’s a real novelty. It makes me realise how lucky I am to be at home with them all the time.  This week, the two…
