Every now and then, the pace of life slows down a little. It’s never for long, especially not at this time of year. In fact, things picked back up today with an early start for me and Lia to head to London. But while it lasted, I enjoyed taking things a little slower. The Cotswolds We live a short distance from the Cotswolds and it’s one of my favourite parts of the country. Even the buildings are beautiful, built from Cotswold Stone which has a very distinctive yellowy colour. And yet, it’s quite rare for us to head over that…

This week has mostly been about Libby, which is just the way she likes it. She seems to be growing up before my eyes, having turned six years old on Monday. The triathlon Before Libby came along, my husband and I had both started to get quite into triathlon. We’d competed in a few, both sprint and olympic distance. I personally settled on the olympic distance. 1500 metres swim, 40km cycle and a 10km run. My times weren’t record breaking, but they weren’t bad either. I’ve always been a keen swimmer and reluctant runner. I have a love-hate relationship with…

Some weeks, I get to Thursday and can’t believe how much we’ve crammed in. This was definitely one of those weeks. Reaching the end of the school holidays is always a milestone. It’s amazing to have the girls around but it took me until yesterday to stop feeling overwhelmed with work. The wedding of the year My sister got married last weekend. She looked beautiful, the weather was kind and Libby and Lia didn’t get into a fist fight whilst walking down the aisle as flower girls. It was the perfect day. It’s quite a unique thing growing up with…

Does anybody else hit the warmer months and find that life becomes more manic than ever? Thankfully though, it’s in a good way. We’re busy filling our weekends and school holidays with adventures. I’m snowed under with work, struggling to fit it all in and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Holidays For the past few days, I’ve been somewhat absent from the blog. I’ve posted very little on social media and taken a total break from work. We headed to the fabulous Pencarnan Farm campsite for the second time this month. For all the amazing facilities, the one…

When I started freelancing, the intention was always that I’d have a bit more time to myself. After years of working long hours and commuting, I was ready to carve out free time. Of course, I was being naive. I spent every spare moment either working or with the girls. But now, I finally feel like things are changing. Putting life first I’ve always enjoyed sport, but for the past few years it has seemed like a chore. Something I had to fit in, that I knew I’d love once I started, but I really had to drag myself out…

We’re still very much in birthday mode here. Lia’s birthday was last Thursday and in her own inimitable way, she didn’t want much. We bought her a bike last September when we felt she was ready for one, and she had a scooter last year. So, her birthday consisted of lots of little things wrapped up and put into a big box, and an impromptu day out with friends. The birthday party The girls’ birthdays are relatively close together and I am relatively lazy. So, I managed to persuade them that it was a good idea if they had a…

What a week it has been. Isn’t it amazing how a bit of sunshine and a bonus day off work can make everything seem better? Bank holiday weekend In our usual disorganised manner, we hadn’t booked anything for the bank holiday weekend until the last minute. But with the weather looking so good, we knew we needed to make the most of the camper van and head to the beach. We ended up in a gorgeous campsite called Pencarnan Farm near St David’s in Pembrokeshire. My husband and I both spend quite a bit of time in Pembrokeshire before we…
