The few small changes to lockdown that have taken place this week seem to equate to a lot more freedom. For us, days out at this time of year inevitably take place outside. It is quite rare for anybody outside our immediate family to join us too, so the four of us going for a day out felt relatively normal. We didn’t venture anywhere exciting but took our camper van to a local beauty spot 10 minutes down the road for a picnic. As there is a toilet in the van, it makes a huge difference to how long we can…

School holidays are a funny thing in this strange limbo we are in at the moment. We all look forward to the extra downtime with the girls not having to battle through their schoolwork. Then the holidays arrive and they feel somewhat odd. We haven’t been joining the hoards on days out to the beach or anywhere else far from home. With lockdown starting to ease slightly, things feel a little different to last week. The general mood on social media seems to be one of nervousness. People fall into two camps, those who are petrified of the virus spreading further and those who are glad to be able to do a little more than last week. For me, the return to open water swimming couldn’t come soon enough. That said, I’m sticking to quiet times and places and as a family, we won’t be going anywhere that is likely to be busy. I’m waiting to see how this weekend plays…

The weeks are starting to blur into one now. Schoolwork gives us some sort of routine, but I don’t really know how many weeks of home schooling we’ve done since the end of the Easter holidays. Two, or is it three? We’re looking forward to a shorter week of it with a day off on Friday for VE day. I’d quite like to have a little VE day party for the girls, but I’m not sure whether I’ve quite got the motivation. Groundhog day Writing a weekly blog post while we’re all at home seems a bit like groundhog day.…
