Our Thursday Photo #25

Half term, even with two pre-schoolers is somewhat hectic at the best of times. During term time, we have a nice, easy little routine that involves a different club or activity each morning and a  nap in the afternoon. When it’s half term, this is all thrown a little out of kilter when the activities stop, and this week has been even more difficult because Libby had a tummy bug on Monday afternoon, forcing a day at home on Tuesday. We are rubbish at days at home and it involved far too much screen time watching nursery rhymes and Christmas…

Our Thursday Photo #24

This week has been somewhat busy, but in a good way. We looked at a house on Saturday and loved it, so we decided it was time to put ours on the market. On Saturday, we spent the day in London, visiting the poppies at the Tower of London. It was a lovely day, but exhausting for us all and we got back home very late.  On Monday morning, I put in an offer on the house and it was accepted on the condition that it would remain on the market until we sold ours. Our Thursday Photo #23

Every week since Lia was born, I have been posting a photo of my two girls together. The more I think about it, the more delighted I am about the photographic record of them growing up together. I also keep wondering when it will be that the girls go off each other! Yesterday, I ordered a personalised letter from Santa for both girls. One of the options for the letter was to add in a little note to say well done to the child for something in particular, or to give them a special message. I sat and thought about…

Octonauts at the National Sealife Centre Birmingham

This morning we were lucky enough to be invited to the National Sea Life Centre in Birmingham to take part in an Octonauts mission. The Octonauts are children’s television characters who have underwater adventures and rescue sea creatures who are in trouble. So a mission at the National Sea Life Centre is ideal! Libby isn’t really into television and I’ve never really pushed her because a lot of the children’s television programmes don’t really hold that much educational value in my opinion. However, having heard a bit about the Octonauts today, I will be getting hold of a DVD or…

Our Thursday Photo #22

This week has been well and truly exhausting. Lia appears to be teething so none of us have had any sleep (except for Libby, who would sleep through a nuclear war). I’ve ordered a Sophie the Giraffe for Lia, I’ve heard good things about them and I’m willing to try anything, so although I wouldn’t normally pay £12 for a teething toy, we’re desperate! Our house hunting has taken another interesting turn. Because I’m now self employed, my wages as it stands won’t be taken into consideration for a mortgage. They take the self employed average of the last two tax…
