Zoocchini hooded towels: review

Both of my children have been swimming since they were tiny, building water confidence is really important to us, so we try to swim every week. This has been really successful and it’s one of the activities we all enjoy doing as a family.
The only rubbish thing about swimming is getting changed afterwards. When the girls were tiny, it was easy to just wrap them straight up in a hooded baby towel and get them warm. As they’ve got older though, it is one of the few things that has got more difficult.
The girls just don’t seem to be able to resolve the conundrum of whether to get dry and warm or whether to run out onto the poolside when their dad is in his underwear so that he has to chase them around in his pants (true story).
Zoocchini hooded towels
Luckily, Potwells and Zoocchini have come up with the perfect solution with their fabulous hooded towels for kids. We were lucky enough to be asked to review a towel and delighted though I was, this put me in a bit of an awkward position.
This was a product that would be perfect for both girls. They both love swimming and both get cold afterwards. So, the only thing for it was to choose a favourite child. Thankfully, Potwells decided this wasn’t such a great idea and agreed to send us a towel for each of them.
Lia is a huge fan of dinosaurs, so she chose this beautiful Devin the Dinosaur towel. It is one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen. The towel has a three dimensional character head, which doubles up as a hood. With the hood on, the towel wraps neatly around Lia and keeps her lovely and warm after swimming. It also has a brilliant dinosaur tail!
When not in use, the towel bundles up into the head to make a cute little cushion. It will be perfect for camping, doubling as a pillow as well as a towel and a cute character. It is also really easy to store when wrapped up like this, taking up hardly any space.
Libby deliberated long and hard over which towel she wanted, finally settling on this gorgeous Jamie the Giraffe towel. The design features are the same as the dinosaur, but with a different style of tail, totally in keeping with a giraffe.
Libby has some wooden giraffes in her bedroom that she says good night to every night. These days, she has to put her own giraffe outfit on before she chats to the giraffes at bedtime. I think it will be a the start of a new routine for her!
We absolutely love these towels and I’m sure the girls will be using them for many years to come. They are recommended for 24 months and upwards, and I think they will be fine for children up to the age of about 6 or 7 years old.
The towels are machine washable on a gentle cycle, and fine in the tumble drier. This is perfect for swimming as all our kit just gets thrown into the wash as soon as we get home. I think they will be great for holidays too, they seem ideal for use by the poolside or on the beach.
