Summer months bring with them colourful blooms in the garden, nature and in our clothing. That’s what the Jasmine Harman Collection from Cotton Traders is all about – and I’ve been putting together my favourite items from the collection to brighten up my summer wardrobe.
Brightening up any outfit with a long printed kimono
I’ve always loved a printed kimono for bringing a completely different look to a plain outfit. Jeans and a plain top for example. Ideal for the day, particularly in hot weather when outdoors. But come the evening, it’s great to add a bit of colour without a complete change of clothes – and that’s where the Long Printed Kimono comes in.
I went to a baby shower at the weekend. It took place predominantly outdoors, and was quite a dressy occasion. But equally, I wanted to be comfortable. So, I wore my jeans and a relaxed style t-shirt. But I dressed it up with a kimono.
I had lots of compliments on the colour and style of the kimonono, and I felt both comfortable and confident wearing it. It’s definitely going to be part of my go-to outfit for smart-casual occasions.

Printed maxi dress to keep cool in hot weather
I’ve always found a light maxi dress to be the ideal outfit for extremely hot days. The only problem is, they are often sleeveless or very short sleeved. Not ideal if you’re self conscious about your upper arms, which is common as us girls get a little older!
Fortunately, this maxi dress has mid-length sleeves, flatteringly covering the upper arms. Equally flattering are the v-shaped neck and elasticated waist effect. Mock buttons on the bodice give a smart look, without adding the hassle of having to do them up when you put the dress on.
Instead, it pulls on over the head and looks instantly elegant. It could be worn with or without a belt around the middle and would look equally great dressed up with a smart jacket.

Stripe cotton crew neck jumper
This summer has been so lovely that I really don’t feel ready to think about having to add a jumper to my outfit just yet. That said, we’ll be off on a road trip to Scotland in a few weeks time, and I know the evenings will be a little cooler. Plus, it’s nice to be ready for the autumn when it does arrive.
I’m loving striped jumpers at the moment and the colours of this stripe cotton crew neck are absolutely lovely. It’s a knit for year-round wear, made from pure cotton for quality and comfort.

The flattering fit combines with ribbed neck, hem and cuffs to keep their shape in place. One of the appealing things about this jumper is that it can be worn with anything. It goes well with a tailored skirt or trousers for work, but looks equally good with laid back jeans for evenings in the pub.
I highly recommend the Jasmine Harman collection. Whilst these items were my personal favourites, there were any number of items I could have chosen and worn for various different occasions.
