A toddler masters Soft Play

Today, we were lucky enough to be invited to the new Dennis the Menace themed play zone at the Guild Brewers Fayre in Bromsgrove. Libby hasn’t had that much experience at soft play, I think realistically she has only recently become big enough to venture out of the toddler area. She soon made up for that though. There was a huge whirly slide (technical term). She insisted on repeatedly climbing all the way to the top all by herself, completely unperturbed by all the much bigger children who were playing in there. Lia of course remained in the toddler area,…

Christmas at Webbs, Wychbold

This morning we were lucky enough to be invited to the Christmas experience at Webbs Garden Centre at Wychbold, just outside Droitwich. This is one of those places that I’ve driven past on numerous occasions but I’ve never really ventured inside and I was really glad I did! When we arrived, we had a look around the garden centre and their Christmas area. Libby, as any little girl would, took a particular liking to the Cinderella carriage. The Christmas display at Webbs as a whole was magical, and I just loved this little touch, particularly as it is possible to…

Octonauts at the National Sealife Centre Birmingham

This morning we were lucky enough to be invited to the National Sea Life Centre in Birmingham to take part in an Octonauts mission. The Octonauts are children’s television characters who have underwater adventures and rescue sea creatures who are in trouble. So a mission at the National Sea Life Centre is ideal! Libby isn’t really into television and I’ve never really pushed her because a lot of the children’s television programmes don’t really hold that much educational value in my opinion. However, having heard a bit about the Octonauts today, I will be getting hold of a DVD or…

Things to do in Pembrokeshire with a baby and a toddler

Last week, we had a lovely camping holiday in Pembrokeshire. I always find it difficult to know quite what to do with the girls when we’re somewhere different, so I’m writing this in the hope that it might help someone else who pays a visit to the area with babies or young children. We stayed at a campsite in Manorbier, a ten minute walk from the beach. At Libby’s pace it was more of a 20  minute walk though, and if we’d had a buggy we’d have had no chance! The walk was through a beautiful wood and avoided the…

Tale of the Brave at Drayton Manor

Yesterday was Libby and Lia’s first trip to a theme park. We were lucky enough to be invited to Drayton Manor to watch the brand new Thomas the Tank Engine movie, Tale of the Brave. Much to hubby’s disgust, he couldn’t get the day off work to come with us. Luckily for me, my fabulous photographer friend +Melanie Chadd was able to come with us. Not only did she take some *FABULOUS* photos, but she was a huge help with the kids, to the extent that Libby asked if she wanted to come and live with us! So thank you Mel for…
