We’re all really enjoying the sunny weather at last, it seems to have been so long coming this year. On Saturday, we headed into Birmingham for a trip to the National Sea Life Centre, the first of our outings as 2016 blogger ambassadors for them. We had a fabulous time there and my sister met us for lunch at Wagamamas afterwards, it was lovely to see her too. We had a slightly quieter day on Sunday, heading off for a swim. Libby is getting really excited that she will be starting her swimming lessons soon so she did some practice…

Each Thursday, I sit down and look back on the previous week. There are usually ups and downs, but I always look back on the week fondly. This week has had notably more ups than downs, despite being just as busy as ever – if not more so. On Saturday, everyone went out for the day and left me to my own devices. Welcome sunshine, we’ve been waiting for you. I can’t believe how late in the year the good weather seems to be starting this year. Only on Sunday, we left Avoncroft Museum in a huge rush because the heavens opened with rain, hail and even sleet. And yet today, everything is different. The sun is finally here. My husband’s birthday was over the weekend and nobody was more excited about this than Libby, not least because she was allowed to choose his birthday presents. My husband and I have never been particularly materialistic. If he thought a boat was an option for his birthday present, I’m sure he would have been happy to tell me exactly what he wanted. But with circumstances as they are, he couldn’t come up with anything for us to buy, and quite frankly neither could I. So, it was over to Libby. She decided…

During the past week, I have really started to feel like I’ve turned a corner. I wrote about the negative impact of tiredness, and how I didn’t even realise how much it had affected me until I started to feel a bit better. Last weekend, I went on a proper night out for the first time since my hen do in Amsterdam nearly 5 years ago. It was amazing to see some old friends and be relieved of my duties as mum for a few hours. I’ve even discovered a new found ability to get up early and get on…
