Hasn’t it been a treat to see the sunshine again this week? Just when we thought autumn had arrived, the summer reappears for a few days. I’m pleased to say that we absolutely made the most of it with river swimming, paddle boarding and even a night away in the camper van. A bonus night away Isn’t it funny how just one night away stretches the weekend out to seem like a holiday? Just like that, the children are back to school. It is becoming increasingly clear that this whole thing isn’t really diminishing. Lockdown measures are already beginning to tighten again but I live in hope that they won’t have to close all schools anytime soon. All of a sudden, it feels like Autumn has arrived. Daily sunshine, beach days and river swims with the children feel like a distant memory. Lockdown is finally over for them and it’s time to go back to school. Uniform is purchased and ironed, Lunches are packed or ordered and things are slowly returning to normal. I just hope that schools are able to remain safe…

Isn’t it strange to think that by next week, children will be back in school for the first time since March? As much as lockdown dragged, the summer holidays have flown by. We’ve left it late as usual in terms of buying school uniform, so that’s our plan for today. For the first time in months, I have quite a bit of work hanging over me. Having taken on various different freelance contracts over the past few months, they are all starting to pick up the pace as businesses start to reopen. We’re all ready to start getting back into…

Isn’t it amazing how much better everybody feels for a bit of sea air? We felt so lucky during lockdown to live in a beautiful area where we could walk every day. We were also incredibly grateful for our garden and the opportunity to get out for a swim in the river once things started to ease. The one thing we did miss though was the beach. It has been a long time coming but we finally made it to the beach this week. It was rather a relief to get back in the sea.   Breaking up a journey…
