I feel like things are slowly but surely falling into place. We all finally shook off our illness towards the end of last week and we were able to enjoy the last couple of days of half term. Luckily we had some exciting things booked in – The Play’s The Thing on Saturday and Disney On Ice on Sunday. What we’ve been up to Libby has been exhausted all week, school is such hard work for her anyway being so little and the illness has just made her even more tired. They are also waking up at the crack of arse every…

Well I can safely say that half-term hasn’t quite gone to plan. We had grand plans for this week. First we thought we might go away for a few days. Then we decided to stay local and have some nice days out, getting some much-needed home decorating done at the same time. What actually happened… Libby came home from school buzzing last Friday. She’d had a brilliant day and couldn’t wait for her week off. Neither could I – it’s been too long since we’ve had any really great days out together without work getting in the way. So on…

I couldn’t be more delighted that half term is nearly here. As of tomorrow, we’ll have a whole week with our little school girl. We were hoping to go away but true to form we didn’t get around to booking anything, so we’ll probably just have some days out around here instead. So I’ve decided to start by painting the girls’ room. The things that really need doing are new floors downstairs and…

This afternoon Libby came home from school and announced that she would be going to the National Sea Life Centre Birmingham next month on her first ever school trip. A trip to the National Sea Life Centre This seems like such a big milestone, the first time she’ll be going away on a coach. Taking her rucksack with her packed lunch and heading off for the whole day. I feel quite reassured that she’s going to somewhere that she knows so well. We might even go there ourselves before her trip, there’s so much going on I’d hate Lia to…

Well it’s been quite a week. On Saturday I did the Gower 50 Ultramarathon – my first ever ultra but hopefully not my last. I didn’t run as much of it as I’d have hoped to and I suffered quite badly with blisters. But despite it all, I got round and I’m proud to have done it. The girls had a day around Swansea while I was running. They were on one of the beaches to meet me as I ran past. Sunday was swimming day and their dad took them while I was still on my way back from…
