NattyMat review

This has been a fascinating product to test, for the simple reason that NattyMat kindly provided me with two of their mats to review. Of course, hubby instantly claimed one of them, so we have a sort of his and hers review going on. Since the mats arrived yesterday, each of us has been swimming once on our own and we have also swam with the kids, so they have been well and truly put through their paces by us all. Firstly let me tell you about the product. It is designed for standing on when you are getting changed at…

Friday Feature #1

I have always loved blogging, particularly so since moving to my new site, I am genuinely excited about sitting down each day to blog. Like everyone though, I often get a bit of a writers block. This got me thinking that there really is no need to be short of a subject, since there are so many amazing businesses and charities that I could be promoting. I have always felt strongly that ethical purchasing was essential, and that companies going the extra mile to do their bit for charity, the community, fair trade or animal welfare should be supported. So…

Our Thursday Photo #29

This week, I have been working on loads of new ideas for my blog and I’m so excited about how well things are going on my new website. I have had a new idea for a regular post, the first instalment will be on Monday so watch this space. I also had a real brainwave for my sister Emma’s new blog, and she also has her own fabulous and very focussed blog coming soon, so I will be sharing that information with you as soon as the curtains are lifted. Christmas at Webbs, Wychbold

This morning we were lucky enough to be invited to the Christmas experience at Webbs Garden Centre at Wychbold, just outside Droitwich. This is one of those places that I’ve driven past on numerous occasions but I’ve never really ventured inside and I was really glad I did! When we arrived, we had a look around the garden centre and their Christmas area. Libby, as any little girl would, took a particular liking to the Cinderella carriage. The Christmas display at Webbs as a whole was magical, and I just loved this little touch, particularly as it is possible to…

The toddler conspiracy

In these days of population boom and inadequate housing provisions, the government have been forced to take drastic action to prevent excessive reproduction. The phenomenon known as the “terrible twos” is in fact the result of a cross-party agreement to curb our desire to preserve our bloodline. All toddlers, on reaching the age of 20 months old are being issued with the following detailed instructions.  1. Sleep deprivation If you have been sleeping through the night, shame on you. From now on, you must wake up four times a night as a minimum. Don’t nap. Feel free to sleep at the…

Baby’s First Christmas

The lights, the sights, the scents, the sounds,  The ice rink, the big wheel, the merry-go-round.  The funny man who’s dressed all in red,  The big present sack at the end of your bed.  The smile on your face from ear to ear, Yet for some reason mum and dad shed a tear, The last time we’ll have a first Christmas here.  Next year with excitement your heart will burst, But never again will it be your first.

Things aren’t as bad as I thought…

Over the summer, I was doing really well at getting back my fitness levels after having Lia. I didn’t have much on work-wise so I had some time to sort myself out and get back to my normal weight. Unfortunately the last few weeks, things have gone downhill rather rapidly.  I am lucky enough to have a friend who drags me out for a run every week, whatever the weather. I also make every attempt to go swimming and fit in another run each week, but the last few weeks have been tough and I haven’t managed it. Sleep deprivation…
